Well if Grove is the starting center then our OL features 2 first round picks, Long and Carey, 2 2nd round picks, Smiley and Grove and one 6th Thomas, just like it did last year..provided the only Grove is injected in the starting line up..and Smiley and Thomas not regress.. but can our middle remain healthy, Satele is the only middle guy who's remained on the field in the middle full time the last 2 years..
 
I think we have the best o-line in football right now, and it better be because we're probably the most expensive o-line in the league right now. I don't know that for sure, but I know we've got over 154 mil invested in the brickwall in front of Pennington this year.
 
Another interesting factoid is this is the same 2004 NFL draft where Vernon Carey came from, so we now have 3 of the top 6 drafted O-linemen from that year.

(The 3 other top linemen in 04 were: Robert Gallery, Shawn Andrews, and Chris Snee)
 
The 1995 Dolphins team had 19 former 1st round draft picks and look haw they did. Not trying to sound negative, we obviously have talent on our line but they have to work well together. There is definite reason for optimism.

Your OL is good but the best? I don't think so. Grove has alot to prove, this a player that in 5 years has played more than 12 games just once. You guys better get a WR or 2 or Chad will still have no one to throw to next year.
 
Why the hell is this jet guy allowed on this site!!!!!!!!!By the way, the jets suck!!!!!!You will be in 3rd place again with your over priced free agents and no quaterback.

is easy to think that we have the same o-line as last year other than Groves at center but when you think about it there's more to it.Long has a year under his belt.....hopefully Smiley and Thomas will stay healthy and Smiley now has a year in the system....you have 3 guys coming back that played together most of the year,not to mention Thomas that went thru training camp with them....we also seem to have more depth with Satele being able to play center and guard plus Alleman and Uweike(SP?) got a lot of playing time last season too....overall we "should" have a much better line.is a matter of doing it out on the field.

WR is a glaring hole on your team. What Chad did was amazing last year w/ what he had to throw to, you cannot expect that to happen again. Don't act like all of a sudden the dolphins are great and there's no looking back. You had a great year but you do still have alot of work to do to take that next step, the odds are better you will take a step back this year rather than a step forward. teams get good and bad quickly.

i dont know how people can say we have the best offensive line right now or that we are a great one at this time, when there are open spots all throughout the middle of our line right now. The roster on paper looks pretty decent right now, but we dont even know who is gonna obtain the starting spots yet, and how well they are going to play. lots of injuries been with those guard either from last year or thir career..... i am still at a wait and see with this group, but i do like the names we have so far!!!
