Says that whoever loses the QB battle between Moore and Garrard(our good pal Walker doesn't really include Tannehill in the discussion) will be the 3rd best backup QB plan in the NFL if the starting QB goes down for an extended period of time. Dallas and Tennessee are the two teams ahead of Miami.

My thought though is that whoever loses the starting job might not be with the team during the regular season. Maybe I am over thinking this, but say Garrard loses the job, will he be happy as the backup? Would the coaching staff prefer Tannehill as the #2 to get more practice reps and be better prepared for the future? I honestly could see the Dolphins shipping the losing QB to another team for a late round draft pick at the end of camp. Don't see them cutting someone, but I would think the trade route would definitely be explored. Especially with both veterans only being under contract for the 2012 season.

If only bloggers rankings of backup quarterbacks correlated to wins and starting quarterback play

Don't remember who is the backup in Dallas but Tennessee? Only way Tennessee would be better is if Locker beats out Hasselbeck, in which case (IMO) they would have a better backup but a crappy starter. Locker tends to tuck and run way to early, he's a running QB not a throwing QB.

Anyway, Adam Schien (who's a complete idiot and the worst personality on Sirius NFL Radio...to the point I don't listen to that 4 hour block cause he's so obnoxious) will tell you all the QBs for the Dolphins suck.

Kyle Orton is the backup in Dallas.

This guy is a moron. J Campbell is waaaaaaaaay better than the 9th best backup in the league.

i think we should be two. we are arguably in better shape than the titans, bc we will have a vet back up. cant believe this is by espn. if walker would have wrote this we would have been last

I like Locker. I think if it's a fair competition, he'll be Hasselbeck.

im going to say the jets were rated lower on the backup QB scale because espn expects tebow to beat out sanchez:d-day:

too bad they don't hand out lombardi trophies for backup qbs...ha ha...is this really supposed to be a comforting or positive thing...great we have the 3rd best qb situation not good enough to take you anywhere or get you over the hump thus the label backup...awesome
