The Dolphins have benched FS Louis Delmas in favor of Michael Thomas.
Asked Monday when they made the move, Fins coach Joe Philbin replied "everything." Thomas has simply outplayed Delmas, whom Miami signed to a one-year, $3.5 million deal in the offseason. Thomas finished Week 2 with six tackles (four solo)

i dont get this...i graded him out with playing a very solid game...must be more to it...or some things went on on the back end i couldnt see

maybe it's more locker room related

I guess we will have to wait until the night before the game to find out the real reason Delmas got benched.....

:bobdole:

Let the boys play Philbin, enough with the ****ing school principal bull ****.

I assume Delams got heated in the locker room.

GOOD!

We need someone on this team to get in peoples faces and lite a fire in this teams ass after that **** performance against the Bills.

Team had all the emotion in the world against the Pats. Yet came out like slugs against the Bills.

Stop playing scared.

After I got home from Florida I watched the NE game. I was impressed with delmas. He was making a bunch of tackles. HMMMM

Isn't this old? He ended up playing the majority of the snaps? Only sat out early on Sunday? I am confused!

Maybe it was his blown coverages that led to all the big passing plays? I'm not sure, I'm just saying maybe they benched him after looking at some film of the game. One thing I can safely say is that Philbin is not a good coach, nor has he really gotten any better since year 1, and this doesn't improve things.

I thought Delmas was good.

I think this misleading. Delmas played more, but Thomas started. I am not sure he is indef. benched.

IF, IF, IF things go bad, Joe will lose his locker room SO fast.

To be honest, I didn't even see that Delmas didn't start. I like Delmas. He brings leadership and he tackles like a man. I do wonder about him paired with Jones though in coverage.

Michael Thomas has pretty good hips for a safety and is reliable in coverage by safety standards. But to me he is still a solid backup.

The secondary is quite a mixed bag. No picks in two games. I don't know what was going on with all the crossing routes with Watkins. But we did a good job on the USC receiver (I was a big fan coming out of the draft). Honestly, Jimmy Wilson is a good football player. Grimey was solid. Will Davis is coming along. But Jamar Taylor is a massive disappointment. I get that Davis and Finnegan beat him out, but not develop at all as a second rounder we got for Vontae Davis is a bad situation.

With the age of our defensive backs, we will need to draft early and often back there the next couple of years, AND not miss. You can't come back with Sean Smith and Vontae and then bungle it. I do feel like Hickey has an eye. Long way to go but there is some age back there and not enough development. I mean, we can't trust Taylor and Davis as NFL starters.

This really ****ing bothers me. I love the way delmas has played and with his fire I think he had the potential to be a leader on this team. Why would philbin need to cut the legs out from under him and shame him like this. I can't give the coaches the benefit of the doubt here. It better have been something damn serious to diminish a potential leader and impact player.
