Besides Allen, Danials and Goodman the fins have no worthy backups at the cornerback position. Mitchell seems to have a lot of potential but has not played really. Jackson is average and got injured at the end of the season. Lehan just plain sucks. Whoever else we have must suck because I can not remember them.:sidelol: Anyway the Fins IMO need to draft or sign a free agent to add CB depth( and yes I am stating the obvious.....:ninja:). Clements from the Bills would be the smartest move like many other posts have stated. Go Fins in 2007.:dolphins::evil::dolphins:

Clements would be a logical choice if we could afford him. He's going to want money in the Champ Bailey range and that will more than likely eliminate him from consideration.

Jason Allen can play CB, which he would prefer, so we actually have 4 players who can possibly do the job. Mitchell has been designated to NFL Europa to get playing time so hopefully hel'll take advantage of the situation.

We could use a playmaker at either safety or corner or both.

CB isnt even on MIA's radar. I think that they are planning on moving Jason Allen to CB and drafting Laron Landry.

what info are you basing this CB isnt on miami's radar? a shutdown corner is a need and might get filled with possibly a chris houston or a darrelle revis at 9 or another corner in the 2nd. one way or another we get another db this offseason thru the draft or free agency.

the thign is we hvaent' had any info regarding DB this year.

just that. the "lack" of info. all reports have mia targeting dielman, a speedy wr, a rushing olb, and reports of jason allen open to playing cb next season.

also, with mueller stating that he is making sure that his 3 first day picks are going to make an impact this year...at #9 there is no CB that is worth that high a pick. only laron landry is worth a top ten pick out of the DBs.

So look for Landry to be our 1st round pick with Jason Allen moving to CB or pitting Landry and Allen together at SS and FS respectively with Bell moving back to his original backup blitzing S spot with Hill playing some dimeback.

Will Allen and Andre Goodman played stout at CB with Travis Daniels struggling this year at NB due to an injured ankle. Hill may move CB and challenge Daniels for the top backup NB/DB with Bell playing the top backup S.

Laron Landry and Jason Allen would be "nasty" as our starting S's.

I always trust Mike Mayock's draft analysis...and he doesnt like Revis and doesnt feel any of this year's CBs can hold Laron Landry's jock strap. So I look forward to bypassing any of the CBs and just pick Landry to play FS or SS.

Trust me. Looking over this past season's games...the main secondary struggles were actually at S not CB. People look at our lack of INTS and just assume our CBs sucked. But that wasnt really the case.

Our CBs actually covered very nicely. But our S's failed to pick the ball off. Which was the way our defense was set up for. When Bell replaced Tillman, you saw the BIG difference.

So Safety was the weakness, not CB.

Depth you say? With Landry we automatically become deep. Why? Because Hill can play S/CB and so can Jason Allen. If we keep Jason Allen at FS all we need is a #5 CB which is easily filled via the waiver wire or the 2nd day of the draft. :cooldude:

first isnt every gm's wish that their picks make an impact right away? mueller really isnt saying anything special to me.

stout? they were ok but by no means stout, they were more like average. i saw plenty of times where they were plain beat. yea people have said we will target guard and olb because of the lack of talent at the cb position. samuel and clements are basically it and we are not getting either. so we are forced to look at the draft. if revis and houston work out like they are supposed then those guys can more and likely start right away. jason allen is no sure bet to corner and its a big gamble. id rather see a true corner.

CB is a need this offseason...Miami also has no depth at almost every position like DB,LB,WR,O-line and WR.

wouldnt mind landry, but they need a wr, bad! hopefully 2nd round.
1st: Landrey
2nd: plamaking wr (if anybody comes to mind let me know)
3rd smith project qb

That would seem to make the most sense for the short term. We are short at corner, as much as I like Andre Goodman, I feel more comfortable with im at the nickle spot leaving Allen and Allen to start on the corner spots. Daniels isn't worthy of starting and isn't a better player than Goodman so keep him as the dime.

To me the dream off-season would be signing Dielman and drafting Brown. That would sure up our biggest weakness that is the left side of the offensive line. Sure our secondary isn't that great, but lets fix that next year and let the front 7 carry us again in 2007. If we can find a little bit of offense, which I believe we do with Dielman, Brown and a healthy C-Pep, we could be contenders.

EDIT: You said that you believe we will draft Landry, but I have a bit of a problem with that. Sure he is a very nice player, but it's time to take care of the joke that has been our offensive line. Plus, I like what we have with Bell and Hill to anchor the saftey spots next year. Hill played very well and Bell is the only ball hawk we have.
