Hey guys. I've only been watching this board for about six months now, and I've only started/replied to a few posts as I prefer to listen. But I wanted you guys to know that the posters on this site are by far the most mature and well informed I've seen yet. I've spent time on the Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald message boards, but I ultimately became disgusted with the endless stream of mindless blather that only related to football once in a while. After reading post after post of one liner "fantasy football" pedigree banter, I honestly just stopped visiting and lost interest in communicating with other Fin Fans altogether. It wasn't until I stumbled upon finheaven.com and this board that I caught the fever again. Seeing that there were Fin Fans that actually understood the game as it was meant to be played, along with all of its intricasies was very refreshing for me. So thanks, guys. Thanks for reassuring me that there are top notch Fin Fans out there that the St. Louis Fin Fan can connect with. Keep up the thoughtful posts. This Fin Fan thoroughly enjoys them.

Welcome! come on in, and share your thoughts!

I appreciate that. I myself am a season ticket holder for the first time this year being that i just filled one of my life long goals of living in south florida and having season tickets. I grew up in the burgh a fan of danny marino. I always love all my black and gold and the city of steel but marino really brought a love for the phins straight to my heart being that he was from the burgh. Well your right the fans on this site are dedicated. For the most part I feel that dolphins fans are fair weathered people. Just a bad area down here for fans since so many people are from so many parts of the us and central and south america. Overall though this site is home to the truest of dolphins fans. Hope you enjoy your times on the site. Go phins 05-06

I got into the Fins while living in Florida during my college years. Spent 2.5 years in Key West and another 2.5 in Tallahassee. I grew up with the hapless Cardinals as my football team, and let me tell you, it was euphoria for me to adopt a new team that had Marino in his prime. He was fun to watch and more often than not they won, which was a new feeling for me. St. Louis has the Rams now, but once you get into a team, you just can't shake it. I'm a Fins Fan forever.

By the way, I can appreciate your statements about the difference in Dolphins and Steelers fans and the "fair weathered" syndrome. As you know, the St. Louis baseball Cardinals fans are truely some of the best, if not the best, fans in all of baseball and I've always viewed Steelers football fans in that same way. They both appreciate and understand their respectie games, not for the lights and pizazz, but for good ole fashioned hard work and dedication, both staples of the St. Louis population, as I've heard it is for Pittsburgh.

ahh Yes the fair weather syndrome. I live in Virginia so I can only see the games on the tele. For over 30 years I have watched games where in critical situations where old MO is beginning to shift out of our favor, and players on the field are begging to the crowd to make some noise almost to no avail. I do not doubt the passion of our fans, but just once I would like to see the cameras shake like they do in Arrowhead.
