Former FBI guy to oversee security.

Dolphins have made a number of additions to their front office, Miami Herald has learned, adding an HR professional and a security expert.
Joe Cicini, a 23-year veteran of the FBI, will oversee the organization's security efforts. Story to come.

Dolphins have hired Dan Caspersen to oversee their human resources department. Caspersen was formerly ExVP of HR for Toys 'R' Us.

The Dolphins are looking to create a "one organization" culture, I'm told. Both Caspersen and Cicini have sterling credentials.

Finally constructing the kind of professional infrastructure seemingly with checks and balances typical of F500 organizations staffed by Best Practices accomplished execs. Encouraging!

Cinci, hired for security, spent 23 yrs w/FBI incl Joint Terrorism Task Force & has provided crisis mgmt training to pro sports leagues.

Brandon Shore will work in HR as "a dedicated resource for the team’s training facility." Team beefing up HR after last year's issues.

Both bring sterling credentials to the franchise. Cicini joins the organization after 23 years of service in the FBI’s Miami division. His background includes work with the Joint Terrorism Task Force and he has provided crisis management training to the NFL, MLB, NBA and more. Longtime Dolphins Director of Security Stuart Weinstein will remain with the organization in his same capacity. Cicini also has over 17 years of liaison experience in the South Florida area with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Miami-Dade and Miami police departments.

Caspersen last served as executive vice president of human resources at Toys ‘R’ Us, where he managed a $100 million budget. Before that, he ran the human resources department for Target Corp. Furthermore, Brandon Shore, who most recently was a finance and legal affairs specialist for the Dolphins, will now be the team’s human resources point man for the team’s Davie training facility.

The moves were part of the franchise’s desire to create a “one organization” culture, bridging the business and football worlds.

“We are all committed at this organization to providing a productive and respectful work environment, as well as ensuring the safety and security of all of our employees and fans,” said Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel.

This is good news. Significant flaws in the culture were exposed and professionals have been engaged to clean it up. Apart from the bullying, the release of texts suggesting hard drug usage within the team was very disturbing. The Hernandez case up in New England also flags the need for teams to significantly raise the bar in monitoring player activities away from the playing field. What players do and who they mix with, etc will probably be emphasized to all players. Don't be surprised if the team comes down much tougher on transgressors.

I bet if you ask this guy privately he would tell you that Martin is a snake.

FBI dude will be tapping the locker room.

Look out Pouncey!

:chuckle:

I hate this news, along with a former TOYS R US human resources director now being in charge of our Human Resources division.

How about we hire people with experience in NFL FOOTBALL! and not former Feds or Toys R Us employees....this is EMBARRASSING.

Sorry guys I try to be positive, but this organization is really good at pissing me off.

I'd rather hire someone from one of the largest employers in America than some locker-sniffer.

They are not hired as coaches, they are hired to do what they know. I work for a Kenworth leasing company, you think our HR people know how to change a turbo on a truck. If you are gonna complain find something legitimate to complain about.

Yep, I agree. If they know their craft (security and HR), then it doesn't matter about if they are NFL savy. They only need to know the culture and expectations of what leadership wants and then it's their job to make it happen. Probably needed to be done, as sometimes the "good ole boys club" attitude can make staff in these jobs forget what they are supposed to be doing. And as far as the "Toys R Us" issue, well maybe having experience working with kids will be a plus with some of our players.

Executives with very solid backgrounds....

Seems like the organization is moving in the right direction.
