Also on Wednesday, the Dolphins hosted unrestricted free agents LaBrandon Toefield, a running back from Jacksonville, and Cameron Worrel, a safety from Chicago. Toefield, a four-year veteran, was a fourth round draft pick (132nd overall) of the Jaguars in 2003. He played in four games in 2006 and rushed ten times for 22 yards. Toefield was an All-SEC performer his junior season at LSU (2000-02). Worrell, a four-year NFL veteran, signed with the Bears as a non-drafted free agent in 2003. He played in all 16 games last season recording 21 tackles, including one sack. Worrell was a first team All-WAC performer at Fresno State (1999-2002) as a senior in his first year as a starter.

I always like Toefiled in Jacksonville and was quite serviceable during all of those Fred Taylor injuries. But, I don't think we need a running back because it's our strongest position, assuming we get Ricky back. Maybe this is a some kind of sign that Ricky won't be back, who knows? Thanks for the update ice.

this may be an indication for Ricky but even if ricky is here, ill still sign toefield

also, rb is noy our strongesst position....past ronnie what e got

Jeez.. stop bringing in these slow BUM safeties and go after Hamlin or Grant.

Hamlin is bloew avg in coverage ala bell and grant dropped a handful of ints last year. So either way its not a strong positions btw the 2 bit I say hamlin.

Hamlin is not below average in coverage; actually, he's not below average at anything as a safety. Obviously, his strength is that he's a hammer and he's a tough safety who is very good against the run, but he can do everything at an at least average or above average level, while excelling at some. He has good recovery speed. There's a reason why he's versatile enough to play both safety spots.

I don't understand people calling him "below average" in coverage. The guy has a nose for the ball, and will lay out whoever touches it if he doesn't get to it first.

You can't really compare Hamlin & Bell. Hamlin is simply on a higher level.

I would like Miami to sign him, is Hamlin on our radar though????

Well if Ricky comes back, I think we have a pretty good backfiled. But with the news that Minor is gone, Toefield would be a nice 3rd string running back.

Worrell is a brilliant special teamer. That would be a tremendous pick up. He was a big hitter at Fresno State and he's carried that over. Big time ST player.

His name has been brought up more than anyone excluding Porter, Green, and those receivers.

That would be a good pick-up for us.Hopefully we can bring him in for a visit and let Cam and Randy convince him to play here.

Shefter said that Miami can sign Todd Johnson if they want to, but we are waiting to see what happens with Ken Hamlin who is our top safety priority.. first. I'd assume that he's the next familiar name in for a visit after Donte' Stallworth tomorrow.
