The Dolphins interviewed only one Rooney Rule candidate when they hired Saban -- Art Shell -- but could interview as many as four minority candidates before this search is over....Aside from Rivera and Tomlin, the Dolphins this week might interview Indianapolis assistant head coach Jim Caldwell, Giants defensive coordinator Tim Lewis and San Francisco assistant head coach Mike Singletary.

It didn't say we interviewed Art Shell for this vacancy, or that we plan to.

It said we interviewed Art Shell to basically satisfy the Rooney rule when we hired Saban.

For the love of all the little children on planet earth...PLEASE do not hire Art Shell!!!!

There was actually a thread made in support of Art Shell a few days ago, wasnt sure if i should laugh or cry.
In the end I just want to hire a good coach, dont care about race or what have you. If he leads us to a SB in a few years he can be purple if he wants to be :D

Art Shell isnt being hired, and they didnt even mention him being interviewed in that article. Rivera I like, he has that bears defense under wraps so I am interested in him. As for Tomlin, I am not so sure. But that Vikings defense looked solid this year that is for sure. Jim Caldwell I dont think I am interested in. QB coach, OC?. Manning does not need anyone to help him with that offense. He calls his own audibles and his own plays.

Tim Lewis?????????????????

Word is he maybe fired if Coughlin keeps his job, his defense never comes up big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor 'thread starting' etiquette. Even though it is accurate, the thread title was a little misleading. Yes, we did interview Shell (two years ago). We also interviewed Wanny. Do you see any threads titiled : "Wayne interviews Wanny".

I think Singletary with a creative and proven offensive coordinator would be great. However, I am against hiring a defensive minded head coach unless its Singletary, Rivera, or Ryan.

No Caldwell, Tomlin, or Lewis please.
