If Davis blossoms into a respectable guard he could finally address one of the franchise’s most troublesome positions this decade considering the last reliable guard duo the Dolphins had was Richie Incognito and John Jerry.
It’s on Davis and James, a 2014 first-round pick beginning his fifth season as Miami’s starting right tackle, to anchor the right side of Miami’s offensive line.

Happy for him, I hope he is a long term solution.

If Jessie Davis secures the right guard position then we will have decent depth behind him. Still hoping Asiata will show something this year and provide depth at the guard position.

It’s still early but he has earned the right to be the starting RG entering TC.

But don’t count out Ted Larsen moving to RG and trying to take some lunch money.

Actual depth from this unit is like a breath of fresh air.

Davis is the real deal. Exactly the kind of player that NE would find and plug in on their O-line and end up with a Probowler.

He will do well at RG. Really liking the interior O-line.

Gotta agree with you here, Asiata has to show up this year and prove the doubters wrong that he isn't ready for the big leagues. Competition is good, tends to bring out the best in people.

Still liked him better as a right tackle after watching him closely last year; just as good (if not better) than Juwan James - and at a fraction of the price. If anything, I think we have another sleeper who got hurt early last year, Eric Smith, that I think has a better build (and the brute strength) for RG. And he looked as good as Jesse in training camp last year before going down.

It seems almost weird that we are going into camp (barring injury) knowing who the front 5 are. When is the last time we could say that? Typically it was a smattering of who dat guards and may the best man win. LEt these guys build some cohesiveness... let's hope Sitton has a positive influence on Tunsil and get this season rolling.

Odd man out Asiata. If stick with status quo LB biggest weakness on the team. Attrition there and we got serious problems. Brendel over Kilgore on the pivot by the bye week.

And here I thought I was the only one admiring DAVIS' work @ RT. If JAMES' contract demands are too much, I'd love to see what the OL of TUNSIL, SITTON, KILGORE, LARSON & DAVIS would look like. Could you imagine what our OL could be IF SMITH, ASIATA & DAVIS all break out & become at the very least 'serviceable'?

I'm really trying not to steam up my aqua colored glasses. :cool
