Not on defense of course. Between Seau and JT they have plenty of emotion on that side of the ball. On offense however... Gus looks like a statue while he plays... never gets excited. Ricky Williams obviously doesn't show much emotion on the field either. Chambers is the same way. Only guy that ever seems to get fired up is the big tight end, Randy McMichael. I think they are lacking in this department.

Gus never gets excited? Go back and watch his reaction to every TD he has thrown. I don't see why we need a vocal leader on offense when we have one as a coach.

Wasn't Gus right in the middle of that pushing match at the end of the 1st half vs Carolina. He seems to be pretty firey.

Well we`re not seeing how Frerotte handles things in the huddle either. From what I`ve seen, he looks pretty vocal to me. Between he, Randy, Saban, and probably Linehan too, I think the rest of the offense hears plenty.

Boy are we bored. Why do we need a Vocal leader. The last thing this world needs is more Yapping! Shut your trap, kick some as@ and then you shut up the rest of all of our critics.

I dont want sheep dogs to flock the sheep, i want wolves! indendent killers that work together in a pack.

Gus doesn't get excited?! He has ran into a wall celebrating for God's sake!! We don't want him getting THAT excited now... Gus is our leader, our offense looks up to him as a leader, it's been stated before. I also agree that Randy McMichael is a vocal leader on our offense, especially last year.

I dont really think we need a vocal leader on offense.....just get the job done!!! On defense, you don't see Zach Thomas "acting the Fool," like Ray Lewis in Balto, he just gets the job done. McMike and Chambers do plenty of leading with their play and know when to talk smack and get guys fired up.....I think guys should be able to motivate themselves without jumping up and down and screaming.

Vocal leaders are over-rated. Talk is cheap. Leaders set an example. What you do is more important than what you say. I think Gus is doing fine as the leader. He has them organized, gets the plays off on time, checks out of bad plays, hits his check-down receiver instead of forcing things. I wasn't sold on Gus being our QB this season but he's given us the most consistent QB play(in the 1st three games) we've had in 10 years.

Good point. I've thought for the last few years now that the O line needs a more vocal, aggressive leader. There needs to be some behemoth out there who inspires the other guys and sets an example of toughness and intimidation. I think this is partly why our line has been pushed around the last couple years.

you know who did that for us........

Jamie Nails, he was by far the best O-lineman we had in the past few years

:rofl3: :rofl3: I would rather have a calm competant qb than a realy vocal qb. As long as he plays well I think we have all the leadership we need.
