dolphins lineup taking shape

Quotes:

Veterans keep buzzing about Allen -- defensive end David Bowens said he rarely has seen a Dolphins safety with the ability ''to come from the opposite side to break up a pass'' like Allen can.

The Dolphins believe they'll be more physical at center with Rex Hadnot replacing Seth McKinney. Newcomer L.J. Shelton is set at left tackle, and Vernon Carey is a strong front-runner to keep his right tackle spot ahead of Damion McIntosh and ex-Jaguar Mike Pearson.

Word is defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson might eventually sign with Miami but has reservations about going through the rigors of a full training camp. His agent said the only team he's talking to is the Dolphins. Even if Wilkinson signs, Keith Traylor's agent, Jordan Woy, said Friday, ``It is my understanding Keith will be part of the Dolphins this year.''

Miami would love for rookie Derek Hagan to claim the No. 3 receiver job, but the position remains open heading into camp. One player said Hagan has impressed with his speed and hasn't dropped balls like he did during Senior Bowl week, but needs to refine his route-running.

This is some good stuff...:cooldude:

What about the CB positions though? I thought that would be one of our best battles and they don't even mention them.

It definitely will be, there will be four players challenging for starting spots, I suppose it's just too early to tell anything worthwhile the moment.

Another interesting battle I can see on the horizon as preseason looms will be Harrington vs Culpepper. Although I know Culpepper is infinitely more talented and a more established QB, if he isnt completely healthy I can see a steady performance from Joey earning him the spot til the BYE at least

Sounds good to me. Last I heard Joey was struggling a little but I don't read much until preseason starts especially for the guys that are new and hasn't been in the system before. Daunte was in Linehans system which Saban will still base his O on and it will mean alot if Joey could do what you stated.

The Dolphins are certainly in better shape than they have been in a long time personel wise. They have good depth at most positions and Saban continues to mine gems from the draft. Looks like there are good things on the horizon, more than we could say a couple of years ago.
