Although the Dolphins have not signed a single player to a standard 2021 contract this month, the club has still lost about $8MM in cap space, as Barry Jackson and Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald report. That’s because a few players hit incentives in their contracts that increased their 2021 cap charges.

Bad to lose cap, but maybe a good sign that guys are reaching their the incentives. Hope it means they are playing well or at least staying healthy =)

Reduces chances for a top FA, pending contract terms

but that means we're probably in better bidding position than the vast majority of teams that were close to cap netural to begin with...good time to find a top-tier FA at a discount

On that same note - How many of our free agents and later year players flourished under Flo? that brings a lot of mid range FAs who will take a slight discount to showcase their ability.

Those numbers tell us the reality that we don't have the money to spend like we did last year but some people here won't accept that and will still think that we need to get the top 3 free agents in the market. The way I see it is we might get two or 3 players total this time around unless we really do some significant cuts.

If we keep our draft picks the way they are now it'll take 11.9mill just for the draft. Also need to keep several millions open for in season moves.

Another player they could approach to restructure is Flowers. He is only 26 and they may want to keep him around.

I don’t think we were ever going to be major players in free agency. I think we’ll target a guy or two, maybe at the top. But between all the draft picks we’ve had the last couple years and the free agency bonanza last year we just don’t have the roster spots to sign a bunch of guys this year. Keep building the team through the draft.

This years free agency will be able to tell which players may be looking to solely cash in and there is nothing wrong with that and what players are looking to play and make some money, but are looking to play for a coach they believe in that can win.

There are no FA is a must have for us anyway. The closest is Robinson, however we can gave two top notch wr in early rounds, for rookie salary. So why spend the money on Robinson anyway.
