Harvey Fialkov, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports free agent WR David Givens (Patriots) had a good visit with the Miami Dolphins Saturday, March 11, but he was not offered a contract. "The visit with the Dolphins was perfect, except there was no offer," said Givens' agent, Brad Blank. "They seem preoccupied with their quarterback pursuits."

we need this QB thing over with !
 
He still hasn't signed with anyone, I feel confident that if we lock up Brees early tomorrow morning then Givens and Arrington could still be salvaged.

Nope. It was apparently just a hoax (or possibly somebody getting too excited at the prospects of him leaving Miami without an offer and not going to Houston).

Nope, even in the Brees reports, it's apparent that Miami won't make any big moves until they figure out QB. Givens may be lost if they don't get a QB tomorrow.

but three reports had the Dolphins offering him a contract. I don't understand why clayton would say that he EXPECTS the Dolphins to sign Brees and Givens if a contract hasn't been offered

Even though this was published, I still think that Clayton has more up to date news with Givens agent then the author of this article

hold on there buddy. Pay attention to the threads of the dude who heard the Dolphins were expected to sign Brees, Shelton and Givens Monday.
Can you sign somebody without a contract? Is this new to me. put 1 and 1 together

I think Clayton knows Givens is leaning towards Miami and that if they make hte move on Brees it 'will' be tomorrow, thus allowing them time to negotiate with Givens.

If they don't sign Brees, they may not sign a QB tomorrow, and thus lose out on Givens.

I think your right. Its just i have heard clayton many times out here in Spokane, WA on our am 700 and he always says he "JUST" got off the phone with the agent for so and so and then reports the latest. This article could have also been writen before the latest clayton report.
With no link though I guess we have to go by the story
