Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins are expected to either release or trade PK Olindo Mare after the signing of PK Jay Feely.




I wounder who we can trade Olindo to, maybe the Chiefs, Atlanta or the Redskins.

Mare for Green sounds good.We might have to throw in a pick though.

Mare's an average kicker. And most kicker's aren't highly valued to begin with. I can't see us getting anything for him.

If i were a fan of a team whose FO traded for Mare at this point, I would probably riot. There is no reason anyone should offer us a dime for Mare. Why on earth would we ever keep both him and Feely. They'll just wait for the cut.

I heard on our local radio station Mare was released and Jay Feely was signed to a 3 year contract. I know Mare wasn't the best and he had a fairly large contract, but I remember Jay Feely being absolutely terrible when he played for the Giants. Didn't he miss several kicks for them during a playoff game?

At least Mare had deep kick offs and was fairly accurate. Do you guys think Prater will beat out Feely during mini camp and preseason, or are we stuck with Feely. Did we make a mistake with our kicker?

If several teams want a kicker and are interested in Mare, then some team may give us a draft pick for him to assure that they get him. Any other reason i would not understand.

How can you trade a player when you already made it clear that he will not be here by signing another kick to a multi-year deal? Everyone knows he will be released.

I'll miss Mare.... alot of the criticism to him was unfair.... I'm not excited about Feely. Wish they could battle it out in camp
