The Dolphins have dominated the NFL spring season. While most teams are plodding along with their 2008 draft picks, the Dolphins have signed six of them.
They have only three to go before their class is secured.
"It fits into the culture that we'd like to establish," Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland said Tuesday. "We want things done yesterday. There's a sense of urgency to almost everything we do."
The Dolphins signed No. 1 choice Jake Long four days before the April 26 draft. They also have locked up the five players they selected in the fourth round or later.
Still without contracts are quarterback Chad Henne and defensive ends Phillip Merling and Kendall Langford.
Most teams haven't signed any draftees, while a few have signed one. The Chicago Bears have signed seven but still have five left, including their first-rounder.
