Dolphins not interested in Matt Birk and he isn't interested in Miami

ok now that blog says miami wanst channing and carey back...carey we know but now channing? wtf is going on here

also i dont take much stock in that dansby comment b/c i think he said that to get ARZ to open up their wallets being scared to lose him b/c he said this team is known for not keeping their players nad paying so maybe he said it to be like wake up guys n offer me a contract already.

None of these guys really know what is going on. I think its obvious we want Crowder and Carey back. If we did not want Crowder why would be lowballing him, we could do like JVille did with Wiklford just not offer him anything. This happens all around the league but people want to use it as a sign that a player is unwanted because he is unsigned. If free agency begins and we are not speaking to our own players then that may be a sign but way too early to read either way.

everyone seems to make too much of what they read...the FO knows what and who they want and they're not going tp tip their hand.

Ozzy rules!!

it's not that we don't want CC, we just don't agree on his perceived value .... he is nice ... not great or special

True dat! The FO sees him in a different way. CC has a perceived value that is higher than what the Dolphins think of him. Nothing personal on either side and that is one of other reasons players leave their respected teams all the time. Don't mean to be a debbie downer but I see us more likely re-signing Carey than Crowder and we may not be able to sign either one. If we don't life goes on...

Oh well, he's too old anyway. I like how he wouldn't be able to take the heat in Miami. What a wuss.

Actually, the report doesn't reveal what the FO is thinking...but what the reporter thinks.

Then, if anything, this contradicts what Jeff Ireland said at the Senior Bowl: "We are looking for good players....if that means that they are 30 or 31 yrs old? then that's what we are looking for...30 or 31 yr olds..."

So Matt Birk is going to be 32 yrs old. Jeff Ireland said that if he's a good player....that's what he's looking for.

See this past offseason....we aquired the 33 yr old Jay Ferguson....

How is Matt Birk too old when he is 32? I am just wondering with that statement since there are many statements made in this forum that always tend to be inaccurate. I don't think age should be a concern in my opinion since Kevin Mawae is 38 years old and earned a Pro-Bowl, and all-pro nomination this season.

A 33 year old Ferguson has been far inffective with his last two teams than a 32 year old Matt Birk who made the pro bowl last season and was a second all pro pick.
