The Dolphins continue to work toward a trade for Detroit Lions quarterback Joey Harrington, who already expressed his desire to join the team.

The deal is hung up on how much Saban is willing to give up in the trade. As of last week, the Dolphins were offering a fourth-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.

"We'd like to get that done, but we don't control that totally," Saban said. "You have to be a little patient so you don't do something that's foolish relative to what you give up."

Saban said the Dolphins also were interested in drafting a quarterback with their third-round pick  either Alabama's Brodie Croyle or Clemson's Charlie Whitehurst.

Whitehurst was selected by San Diego one pick before the Dolphins' third-round choice, while Croyle was selected three picks later by Kansas City.

I have trouble believing this. I can't believe Saban is actually considering trading a 4th. I'd sooner wait until June when he gets cut.

That would be dumb when they can wait until June and get him for nothing.

When did that pick turn into a 4th? Last I heard, Miami was offering a 6th in next year's draft. I don't like this...

That has to be a mistake by Darlington. Seriously, why should we go from offering a 6th to a 4th!? Harrington has all the power and he chose the FINS!

It sounds great now, especially if he does well, but come next years draft I hope we're not saying......why in the world did we do that?.....

Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban was asked if there was urgency to complete a trade for Detroit Lions QB Joey Harrington and he replied: "Well you know we'd like to get that done but we don't control that, totally. And I think sometimes you have to be a little patient so that you don't do something that's foolish relative to what you give up. So that's the issue right now that we're trying to deal with and we just have to see what happens."

Doesn't sound like a 4th is the offer for Harrington to me, like is being reported in another thread tonight.
