Based on combined individual run grades, the OL finished #27 in run blocking with a grade of -38.5. If we look at the first half, we had a grade of -1.9 and would have been around #10. A closer look.

Satele- First half +2.6, Season +3.7

James- +4.5, and -11.4

Pouncey- -0.3, and -3.3

Colledge- -9.1, and -17.5

Dallas- -7.1, and -12.9

Albert- +6.3

Smith- +1.2 and -6.9

Fox- -2.0

Add in Clay who had a +2.4 and Sims with a +0,8.

Does anyone else have trouble typing an OP for a new thread? I have no problem with posts or anywhere else but, have to keep going back to re-type a lot for a new thread. It's making me crazy.

I think i see the problem

Colledge- -9.1, and -17.5

Dallas- -7.1, and -12.9

The guards were terrible. You still want to keep Thomas SB ?
Props to Miller for having a solid season regardless

Albert was killing it in the run game before he went down which was unexpected. His forte has always been pass blocking.

Here's a breakdown of where Miller ran and the results.

Left end- 32 carries for a 4.5 average.

LT- 19 for 4.8

LG- 25 for 3.4

Middle left- 38 for 4.5

Middle right- 42 for 4.3

RG- 20 for 3.4

RT- 19 for 13.3

Right end- 21 for 5.1

Miller was very consistent all year in having a good average with Lazor having him run fairly balanced on where he ran. Need to understand that a RB does not need all 5 guys to block well. Sometimes it's only one who opens a hole with the other 4 being terrible. IF we get more guys blocking well, Miller's opportunities and yardage will increase. I think he did a hell of a job with what he had to work with, and if he gets to work with a consistent OL he will also know better what they are going to be doing every play. That does matter.

He and Tannehill both did great jobs all things considered.

Only 3.4 yards running behind the guards. Turner should help as he is a strong run blocker who needs work on pass protection.

The offensive line is 27th in run blocking but Lamar Miller ran for 1100 yards at 5.1 per carry...Interesting

Yeah, it's almost like our entire offensive philosophy was predicated on run/pass options, and only running the ball when there were 6 men in the box. Hmmm...

You would think the individual player grades would reflect that especially the interior guys. They must have really been bad but the play calls and Miller's effort still got good yardage.
