Miami's 3 losses as we all know were all away from Miami to Buffalo(+2.5), Philadelphia(+3.5) and Kansas City(+1.5). All as underdogs. Well Miami hasn't lost a single game as the favorite which no other team can say for all those people that keep beating a dead horse by saying Miami hasn't beaten a good team.

Ravens were favored in all 3 of their losses.
Bills lost to Jets, Broncos and Patriots as favorites.
Cowboys lost to Cardinals
Lions lost to Seahawks and Packers
Jaguars lost to Bengals and Texans
All of the Chiefs losses as the favorite.
Eagles lost to the Jets
All of the 49ers losses as huge favorites

Actually pretty impressive that Miami is the only team that continues to take care of business. Now 14 point favorites vs Tennessee this week.

Point production is the answer. This offense is all but immune to having a sputtering day against a lesser opponent.

I've emphasized countless times that "Any Given Sunday" was more applicable when defenses were not restrained. There was wonderful contrast. A blue collar running team with a great defense could outmuscle and frustrate the glamour passing team favorite. In recent years that has been hugely diminished. Elite quarterbacks can have an off game but the rules allow freewheeling 14 late points and a reversal escape.

Frankly, Mahomes has become too lazy along those lines. He doesn't have anything close to Brady's commitment and determination from kickoff. Mahomes assumes he can screw around and bail it out late. More often than not he gets away with it. In many ways I'm actually happy about it because Mahomes' lack of intensity makes the Chiefs less of a threat to go unbeaten than when Brady or Manning were in their prime with the Patriots and Colts. The 1972 Dolphins had to withstand many seasons in which those teams took it deep. Also one from Rodgers and one from Brees.
