mind boggling is $40 mil and only one offensive line addition the first few days...one lock starter...that's mind boggling

this team does it to themselves :baghead:

Yeah.... not sure what we are doing with all this cap space.

Sure it rolls over. But c'mon, we had around $20 left before bigger names went off the market.

i don't really care about the cap space they want to roll over so much...but the reason you went home is the oline and you let guys that could help you now get away over basically nothing...i mean one oline addition in the first 3 days when you just did not tender yeatman traded martin have let cog and jerry likely go havent talked to clabo or mckinnie (and shouldn't have at that point anyways) dallas thomas maybe with the worst training camp at tackle i have ever seen in 2013 brenner who takes more contact than he gives even from lbs garner who's a average at best athlete jack of many trades master of none???

one oline addition...$40 mil...baffles me

Yip, I guess we could have overpaid for Beadles and Howard. That would have been real smart!! Eh boy!

well he better hit em out of the park...

well, i think things look worse than it actually is. the oline is the worst of it, but no team can shore up every hole or every position that needs upgrading. I think if miami can find two quality starting olineman, and a better MLB, miami will be in good shape. All the other "wants/upgrades" are just a bonus. Like TE and RB.

If we sign them and invest 4-5 million over the next 2 years and make the playoffs would that be smart?
Or in your opinion running Clabo and Mckinnie out there and getting the sh*t kicked out of Tannehill week end and week out and not making the playoffs smart? Since when did it become "stupid" to commit the resources according to the needs? When did it become smart to underpay and get nothing more than a body to fill in the position? Of coarse no player is a guarantee piece to the playoff puzzle and that includes Beadles and Howard. However we have seen the Clabo and McKinne show first hand and we do know they aren't pieces to the playoff puzzle.

Also who determines what is "overpaying"? You? Me? I think it's the market that determines the price and like it or not offensive line are a highly sought after commodity and you are going to have to pay for starter or even border line starter grade palyers.

I would throw $25 on that to win $1250. If Tannehill is as good as Hoooops thinks he is we could easily do what the Bengals did last season, win lots at home and blow some opponents out, and if we can get in with some homefield advantage we could easily get to the big dance. We were a couple of Buffalo losses away from playing for a first round bye last season.

If Tannehill can play like he did in that stretch between the Panthers game and the second Bills game for the entire season we'll win 11 games easy.

Its a fact they are very average players. You can't have that much money tied up in your offensive line let alone for a couple average players (especially having to re-sign Pouncey next year).

We need to hope Smith is a starter, sign a couple stop-gappers to one year deals (that we know can play), and draft a couple players to groom and be ready to take over next year like Martin, Su'a-filo, Yankey, Turner, Etc in the first few rounds.
