Just voicing my opinion on my day off from work :)

QB: Gus Frerrote seems like the likely starter. AJ Feeley apparently hurt his a$$, and Gus Frerrote made some awesome throws that game. I also liked how she shaked off a few defenders. Brock Berlin also impressed me. IMO, Brock played better than AJ Feeley.

RB: Williams and Gordon didnt impress me. But Sammy Morris and Travis Minor did impress me a bit with some nice runs. As for Ronnie, if he wants to hold out because he is missing out on too 3 million, thats his problem. We dont need him, lets trade him somewhere else and pickup Cedric Benson who also hasnt signed.

WR/TE: Brian Gilmore put on a show. He was amazing. Chris Chambers played well, Rader did real well, Booker and McMichael were decent. Donald Lee was thrown to A LOT, i guess Feeley thought he was a "go to" guy.

O-line: Damien Cook played A LOT. I saw him in every quarter. Stockar McDougle was awesome, but our left side played like crap.

D-line: I wasnt impressed considering we have all the big-name guys on our defensive line. I never saw Holliday play, maybe i wasnt paying attention. Matt Roth did okay, but was kinda slow. We seemd real good at stopping the run on the inside though.

Linebackers: I didnt realize Donnie Spragan was soooo tall. Once again i must not have paid attention, i was inside a restaurant so i couldnt hear, but i didnt see how Crowder or Pope did.

Secondary: Weak. I already miss Patrick Surtain and Sammy Knight. Altho with the addition of Schulters and Jones, i was amazed that we werent as good.

Special teams: What happened to Mare?? He was terrible.

this thread is just waiting to be attacked... so i shall begin...

QB: Yes, you are right about Frerotte, I've said the whole time that I thought he would start. but Berlin > Feeley, come on... AJ didnt play well, but his stats were decent and he did play against the Bears first team D. Berlin played against 2nd and 3rd string, he also played out of the shotgun which he loves...

RB: :rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3: trade Ronnie and acquire Benson????? no judgement can really be made because the run blocking of the Oline was shocking.

as for the rest... it was only the first game of preseason, a lot of the rookies would have been anxious, some of the vets might not have taken too seriously, blah blah... the bottom line is that they did OK.. the Oline still has some work to do, but there was signs of improvement.

the only real concern was the secondary... that definitely needs to be addressed.

I would keep Berlin over Feeley as well. I am in my mid 30's and have been a huge fan of the fins since I can remember, and I live and breath football. I just don't see anything from Feeley. Is it because wanny/spielman valued him at a 2nd round pick, is that why he is given the benefit of the doubt? Well Quite honestly my opinion of their evaluation abilities is quite low. Feeley is not good he will never be good. Yes, he has a strong arm, but he has almost no intangles you look for in a QB!

As for Berlin I thought he had some zip on his passes and a very nice quick release. I can only go by what I see and I liked what I saw from him. Right now I would take anyone over feeley he is that bad, imo, but I would like to see Berlin put some air under a ball and try throwing it over a defense before I say just how good he is or could be...

Lets cut everyone and start with all FA's like Berlin.
Come on, these posts are just getting more and more stupid! Lets see what the team does the next few games b/f we throw everyone under the bus.:goof:

you are right. It IS the pre-season, but these players are FIGHTING for the starting spot. They ARE playing their hardest cuz they want to make the starting roster...and lets also remember, they were playing the BEARS...its not like they played a real good team. In 2 weeks i think they play Pittsburgh, THAT game is gonna prove to all of us WHO are starters will be. Whoever can do well against Pittsburgh, will more than likely start. But yes, we have 4 more games that dont mean anything for the Dolphins record, so if we make a lot of screw-ups, we have another 4 games to fix them before it starts to COUNT.
