Dolphins owner ranked 4th....

Thats cool! Quite the opposite of our bitter rivals the Bills Owner Ralph Wilson

That was a concise line or two but thats an accurate description of Mr. H.

He deserves more credit. He is catering to the fans bigtime. He goes out and gets the best coach possible. Then tells him go hire whoever you want you run the team dont worry about money its not an issue. He turns ProPlayer into Dolphins Stadium. Which I really like. He upgrades the stadium to have gigantic high def jumbotrons and wants to turn the area around the stadium into Dolphins Town. How cool would that be? And he builds a dome for practice. And best of all he lets the people he hires run the show. He doesnt have to have the spotlight on him. Its not about him its about the team, which is the way it should be.

He's done a very good job since hiring Nick Saban and he has been catering to the fans, which he should be doing. I still won't forgive Wayne for giving Wannstedt a contract extension after the 2003 season when he named Spielman GM. And that thing about hiring Dan was a farce. I think Dan really thought he would have input into the organization and when Dan found out that he was really just a figurehead to please the restless fans, he resigned.

1. Robert Kraft, Patriots; 2. Jerry Jones, Cowboys
3. Dan Snyder, Redskins; 4. Wayne Huizenga, Dolphins; 5. Jeffrey Lurie, Eagles; 6. Jerry Richardson, Panthers; 7. Bob McNair, Texans; 8. Malcolm, Bryan, Joel and Ed Glazer, Buccaneers; 9. Pat Bowlen, Broncos

Its probably a list of which owners have most money rather than who are the best owners.Snyder and his meddlesome and overpaying habits ways should put him in the bottom of the list IMO.

Jones #2 and Syder 3...what a joke...I stopped reading at that point. this guys an idiot. Jones is too much of an egomaniac to help his franchise and get his butt off the sideline and hire someone with modern talent, and snyder buys brand name only, despite age or skill level of his over-rated free-agent aquisitions.

I'm pretty sure Kraft is richer than Jones.

Id be suprised if Huizenga wasn't in the top 4 richest owners. Seattle's owner is probably #1. Jones has no where near Huizenga money. Wayne owns three franchises, none of which are the breadwinners of his empire.

I wonder what Bill Parcells would have to say off the record about Jerry Jones, especially after Jones personally bringing T.O. to the Cowboys.

That's not why Dan quit. He quit b/c he realized he would make a third of the money for three times as much work and would be away from his family most of the time.

Many people simply misunderstand Jerry Jones as an owner. Jerry Jones sees the Dallas Cowboys as a brand/product. He loves the Cowboys, but he is more concerned with the financial success of the Cowboys than the fans are concerned with wins/losses. He views wins/losses as part of the equation, but you must understand all aspects of his product: Cowboy Stadium, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders (I mean is there a more recognizable squad in any professional sport?), Dallas Cowboys players, Dallas Cowboys coaches and Dallas Cowboys merchandise. And, the list is even more than that.

I know many fans state the cliche "business of football"... but we truly are in a new era. These are no longer teams with romantic histories and player icons. These are corporations part of a bigger entity that is the NFL. The NFL is a professional sports product that competes for the entertainment dollar of every sports fan in the world.

It's no longer viewed as "will the fan pick a Favre jersey over a Manning jersey". Now it is viewed as "will the fan pick a Favre jersey over an Iverson jersey or Clemens jersey or Beckham jersey".

Just why do you think the new agreement was so important?

It's no longer about the salary cap. It's about the collective financial success of the NFL product.

The NFL product is one of the most desired in all of sports. It's not just by accident that it happened. It's those guys like Jerry Jones who have done their part to make it such a dominant force on the professional sports landscape.

Sure, as football guys, we hate him. But, Jones, Snyder and other unsavory owners have helped make the NFL the power it is.

That was the story that was put out so it wouldn't make the 2004 Dolphins look any worse than they already did. Dan took the job thinking he could make a difference and help restore the franchise. Look at all the time he spent with Phillip Rivers during the Senior Bowl week. Time and money were not factors here. Dan is a very wealthy man and doesn't need any more money. That job was misrepresented to him and the WannSpiel Administration used his fan appeal to distract from their own ineptitude. That's why Dan stepped down. He said he stepped down "to spend more time with his family" to save the Dolphins some face. Why? Because he's a class guy.
