For the second consecutive week, the Miami Dolphins got blasted by 19 points. This time they lost to an undermanned Kansas City Chiefs team at home, 34-15.
The lackluster defensive performance has led to some rumblings out of the Dolphins' locker room. Specifically, players were peevish about defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle's game plan.

The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley cited one unnamed source who said Dolphins players are "beyond furious, irate" at Coyle's plan and defensive adjustments.
Some of the decisions players are questioning, according to Beasley, include having defensive end Cameron Wake and linebacker Jason Trusnik attempt to cover the speedy Joe McKnight in space. McKnight caught six passes for 64 yards andtwo touchdowns.
The scheme, it should be said, was not what caused the cornucopia of missed tackles that plagued the Dolphins' defense all game long.
"We're not playing well enough over the last two weeks to win a football game in the National Football League," coach Joe Philbin said after the loss. "It's hard to say, but that's the facts."
Miami's defense was billed as the strength of the football team, but it has not looked good save one half against the New England Patriots.
Inside the locker room, players appear to be grumbling. Outside, the fans are already in full-throated revolt mode. And Philbin's calescent seat grows more uncomfortable by the week.
:err:

This is completely unacceptable, even by the Miami standards of the last 10 years.
Coyle plays to cute, and Ryan Tannehill (who sucks) and gang (WR's) cannot get it together. The only bright spot on offense was Wallace, the oline and Miller.
Philbin...he is turning into Captain Obvious of the USS Titanic. I would prefer that he just jump ship actually.
Ross must be a Jets / New England fan. It is impossible to run a franchise any worse without bad intentions.

So one of the only bright spots was Wallace who threw the balls to himself?

About the Cam Wake in coverage thing - I actually noticed in one preseason game (in limited snaps) that he dropped back 3 times to cover the flat against the TE/RB. I thought it was a little experiment, nothing more. Then in the first regular season game against NE, he did it again twice on obvious passing downs. At the time it worked out fine, but I just knew Coyle was getting too cute for himself, and that his love affair with his own cleverness was going to bite us in the backside.

And so it did. Cam Wake is a fantastic pass rusher, but "newsflash" he's not that great in coverage. Playing a scheme that doesn't fit your players is not a successful formula. Captain Obvious calling Kevin Coyle...

Really? The Oline? They did decent in the running game, but the pass protect is still off.
