Dolphins playing…

KWhat I meant is We are legitimately a Super Bowl contender going into December. Think about how long it’s been since you could truly say that???
Early 90s?

I never felt we were a legit Super Bowl contender with Jay Fiedler or Chad Pennington at QB. There was a slight glimmer in 2016, as we were getting hot until Tannehill got hurt. That was probably a bit of homerism, though.

I am so used to nothing but draft scenarios this time of year, which I still find myself very interested in.

My best friend and my boss are both Bears fans and I am a Justin Fields fan so I am taking a strong interest in what their off season plans look like. They've backed there way into a top 3 and solid chance at the second overall pick because of a recent spat of injuries. They have $125 Million in cap space this coming off season, more than double anyone else. Good time to be a Bears fan (well, once they stop playing the actual games lol).

Better time to be a Dolphins fan though.

I am planning to come down for either the season ending game against the Jets or a home playoff game. Waiting for these two California games to make a decision. If its looking like we need to win week 18, I'd be more inclined to go to that game. If its looking like the Jets game won't matter and we will be playing a home game in the playoffs, that's what I want to be at.

If were playing the Ravens in the playoffs, in Baltimore, I'll be there. Unlike week 2 when I chickened out of going and rightfully missed the great 4th quarter ever.

We had a few meaningful games in December 2020 and December 2021. But not like this, where it legitimately looks and feels like we’re one of the top teams in the NFL.
Yeah, those 2 seasons we were definitely playing meaningful games this time of year but most of them we were on the outside looking in. Now we’re in a position to clinch a playoff spot without help. It feels a whole helluva lot different.

It all depends on whether they can find someone worthwhile to spend some of that cap space on. Fields needs a few WRs.

Problem is that there aren't many options out there better than what they have. They added Claypool, who could be a solid addition but as it turned out the Bears are now giving away what will likely be pick 34-36. That's brutal, I think the Steelers hoodwinked Chicago on that deal by telling them Green Bay was giving up a 2nd as well. I am sure Chicago tried to move the Ravens 2nd instead of their own.

I like Mooney, Claypool, Kmet, they just need a No.1. Easy to say.

Free agency offers nothing in terms of WR's, hence the move for Claypool. Nelson Agholor, Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster, Jakobi Myers, guys like that top the 2023 FA list for WR's.

Bears biggest problems lie on defense and its not even close so that top pick will definitely go to that side of the ball, especially with the OT returning to Penn State.

Best case scenario for Chicago is to land at 2, and trade down to 3 with Carolina. They get a butt load of assets, still get The Terminator and freeze out the Lions from the top 2 QB's.

Darnell Mooney and Eddie Jackson going to IR in the last 24 hours......Bears are locked into the top 3. Looking at the Broncos schedule though, it appears the Seahawks are more likely to get that 2nd pick than Chicago. Denver has one winnable game and that's against the Rams (Detroit's 4th overall selection). Rams have a couple winnable games, at least more than Denver who still has to play KC twice and the Chargers.

Fans in Miami and Chicago will be rooting for Denver to beat Kansas City......twice.

I'd love to see the Bears move down in the first and then move up and secure a kid like Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the 20's, if he falls. Which he probably shouldn't be considered top 15 right now so thats a possibility.

The only scenario that's less than ideal for Chicago is if the Bears are at 2 and Lions are at 3. Then you have a really tough decision to make, which is why even though you don't plan on taking a QB you need to scout the F out of Young and Stroud so you can decide if its worth letting Detroit have one of them.

For those with a better feel for the Georgia program, I am curious where a lot of people see Jalen Carter in terms of potential vs. Will Anderson Jr.

I’d say we were a legit playoff team that year before the injury. We beat some good teams and Tannehill was turning a corner.

Things were definitely looking up. But I don’t know about that team being one that could win multiple playoff games.
