Predict the average points our defense gives up next year.

Time for all the homers and extreme optimists to go on the record.

If you truly believe, you will post it.

If you don't post your prediction, your abstaining will be a clear sign of what you really think.

Does this team have a defense that will keep the Dolphins competitive in games, or not??

This absolutely reeks of manipulation to get fodder for future "I told you so" posts. Particularly from one who eschews optimistic posts, has suggested that Kiko and Spence might not make the 53, and also that the Fins might be conceding the season.

It's not even June. Kinda early.

But I never make predictions, so maybe it's just me.

Wow, the highest total of points you have us giving up is 24? I mean I hope you're right but do you really believe our defense won't allow 30 points in any games this year? You also have us allowing less than two TS's in 5 games. Time will tell but that'd be a lot better than last year.

Am I misreading? I thought he had the Patriots scoring 27, Texans 33, Packers 31, Vikings 28 and Bills 27 against Miami? I don't see the Texans scoring more points against Miami than the Patriots. Not sure about the Bills at 27 points. Buffalo without Tyrod Taylor and possibly with a rookie qb or Nathan Peterman doesn't scare me as much.

It was just a quick score prediction. I had them giving up 33 to the Texans and 31 to the Packers. I had them giving up 27 to the Patriots and Bills . 28 to the Vikings. Wouldn't surprise me if they gave up over 30 in one of the games vs the Patriots. Not as impressed with the Titans as most people. Don't think the Raiders are going to be all that great at least not at the start of the season. Have to remember they are traveling across country and playing an early game. I think the Jets and Bengals are both going to be bottom 10 teams. The Bengals do have some decent talent on offense so it wouldn't surprise me to see them score more than 16 but I still believe the Dolphins win that game. Overall I have the Dolphins' offense scoring about 25 points/game and the defense giving up 19.5 points/game.

Per game, 18.5. Offense should get around 23.5 points per game. I think we go 11-5 and win the division, NE's time is up, Bellicheat is losing it and won't have Brady to bail him out for much longer.

Have to remember that is a Thursday night game in Houston. We saw how the Dolphins did last time they played on the road Thursday night vs a below average Raven's offense. Of course the Ravens have owned the Dolphins so that factored into that disaster of a game. I believe the Texans are going to have a good offense in 2018 if Watson comes back playing as well as he did before he got hurt last season. Either way Thursday night games suck. Most the time they are blowouts and the home team benefits even more than a normal Sunday game.

Just for reference...20 points per game puts you at around 10 in scoring defense.

This defense has the potential to be top 10. Secondary should be excellent, and although the front 7 has question marks, there's a hell of a lot of talent there, with guys like Jerome Baker likely relegated to the bench for most of the game. Most people think the Eagles will continue to be an elite defense, not realizing how much losing Timmy J for possibly the entire season will hurt them, as well as losing Beau Allen, Robinson, Curry, Kendricks, etc. Point being, a lot changes from year to year in this league now days, which can certainly benefit us.

Will take a top 15 (points conceded) D in a heartbeat. Complementary football is the key, 2016 D couldn't stop the run and got gashed for yards but at key moments made plays ending up, I think, 17th in points conceded. Given we were last in offensive snaps we had no right to be 10-6 that year though the offense was efficient in terms of being joint 11th in points per play. The likes of Minkah and Baker will hopefully signal the end of us giving career QB ratings to the Tyrod Taylor, Fitzpatricks and McCowans of this world.
