Miami Dolphins center
Mike Pouncey, who played only five games this season due to a hip injury, said he is eager to return next season and confident he can maintain his health and regain Pro Bowl form.
“Just proud of this team for sticking with me, and I’ll try to stay as healthy as I can next year,” Pouncey said. “I’m ready for this offseason. I’m going to attack it just like any other offseason to be the best player I can be. I just can’t wait to get started.”
Pouncey, 27, has had two hip surgeries to repair labrum injuries. He said recently that the latest injury, a fracture, had nothing to do with the previous labrum problems.
The Dolphins had their greatest success with the running game when Pouncey was in the lineup, including back-to-back 200-yard rushing performances by Jay Ajayi against Pittsburgh and Buffalo.
