For what it's worth, Miami is 3-1 against the teams they played that made it to the post season.

I do hope we get to see the full potential of this team with the proper personnel.

keep in mind that also means our record against non-playoff teams was atrocious.

unfortunately for us this league rewards consistent performance, and that is where coaching has an impact beyond personnel.

So they were 3-9 against non-playoff teams? That's a terrible point to make even though it's true

In the past few years that has been the case, we beat or played very well against play-off teams

and stunk up the place against all the easy teams.

I remember when we beat the redskins in week 1

I wrote on here that we don't know how good the Redskins are yet this season, they might be a playoff team and sure enough some idi0t here insulted me

We have talent on the roster, even if certain positions really do need help.

We were atrociously coached. Pretty much every former player and coach who watched the Dolphins this year said the exact same thing: we looked like a Pop Warner team out there in terms of our scheme on both sides of the ball.

Leroy Hoard is the only guy on local radio that I take seriously in terms of football knowledge, and he was flabbergasted all year at how badly coached the team was, and how simple we were schematically. Other NFL commentators have said pretty much the same thing, that other teams line up and know exactly what we're going to do because we didn't try to hide anything and we only ran a handful of different concepts.

1-5 in the division. That's the key record. This team needs to become more physical, no more of the finesse crap that Philbin built.

Too bad we weren't competitive in our own division. No way ever we make it to the playoffs when the Jets and the Bills sweep us....

Hm. It's almost like the teams that played us the most, and were the best prepared for us, were able to completely stop everything we tried to do on offense, while also completely torching our defense. :)

Two things that stuck with me throughout the season. First was the coaching. The coaching was abysmal no doubt and had a huge effect on this team. Secondly, the weak points of the team were NFL worst weak points. It wasnt that we were fielding average or even below average players at our weakest positions, we were fielding some of the NFL's worst. Dallas Thomas and Jason Fox dont belong on a football field. Free Safety was a disaster. Middle Linebacker and cb2 were also. If we had slightly below average players to fill these positions, we could get away with it because of the talent at other postions but when you are putting out some of the worst starting players in the NFL at a number of postions, the talented players we do field cant make up for it.

Coaching was ****. First we had "Go, and Go-Go" with Mike Sherman, then we had Lazor who liked throwing a ton of short passes and screens behind the LOS that never went anywhere. They also threw the ball more than they ran it behind an OL that had dweebs like Jason Fox and Dallas Thomas on it.

The team needs playmakers for sure. But Philbin and his Ghoul-Squad were as exciting as having your nuts frozen to a streetlamp in Alaska.

Defensive coaching was atrocious, as well. The reason that so many teams were able to put up insane amounts of points on us without even really trying was that we had a very simple defense that didn't do any kind of disguising of coverages or blitzes. Teams knew exactly what we were going to do when we lined up and it was extremely easy for them to exploit us. As Harry says, we had poor linebacker play and 31/35 were absolutely dreadful. Can't cover, can't tackle. Toss in Jamar Taylor falling down and Olivier Vernon extending drives up the wazoo with an impotent offense and you wind up with opposing teams taking their feet off the gas by the 3rd quarter while still blowing us out by 2+ scores.

So we are 3-1 against teams that made the playoffs and we should say we are good because of that
but 3-9 against non playoff teams should be overlooked

We went 3-0 after firing someone (Philbin, Lazor, Hickey).

Maybe this year we should fire someone every week, see if we can go undefeated.

Pretty typical dolphins. 3-1 against playoff teams. 1-3 against teams picking in the top 5 of the draft.

Tannehill's fault tbh.
