Dolphins Refuse to Fix the Line

They made a point of mentioning how he played at LG vs Buffalo in 2022, as if it was a determining factor. He did not even play the full game (42 of 62 offensive snaps), and while he looked better than he did at OT, his performance was barely passable. That game was his one and only OG start in four years.
I was thinking we chose to sign him over the other Bears' UFA OLs based on this??
So they chose him based off a game where he had a 48 grade? Only Grier lol…he was actually better at tackle than guard and that’s horrifying.

Can’t say I agree with that
I would point to the fact that he and Eichenberry alternated the rest of the year, he did not just take over and shine. I respect most of what you post but not sure about this one.

Fair enough but we don't know if Grier tried to find a trade down or not. Question remains would you have taken Zabel at 13 if it came to that?
Grier took nearly the entire 10 minutes, I've read that Dallas tried to trade down at 12 and couldn't find a partner.

It's great to say you would have traded down and taken someone while getting extra picks but reality dictates otherwise.

For the record, prior to the draft I wanted to trade down and select Grant. Clearly that wasn't an option.
