Dolphins release Quinn and place Bronson on reserve

Jared Bronson sure made it easy if he did not show up.

Still makes me laugh back when I was expressing concern about the interior line, I was rebuffed by people saying "Oh, we got JD Quinn"..

Yeah.

Color me absolutely shocked he's a memory.

Bronson I'm not terribly shocked by either. TE is just to stacked

Not surprising at all with Quinn. He played at U of Montana and did NOTHING special when with them. Who knows why Bronson didn't report

To have a do-over and get Duke Robinson would be nice. But I think keeping tabs on Pete Kendall, and potentially Brian Waters is going to be their move. I think they really want Donald Thomas to solidify that RG spot.

On a lighter note, if we did land Brian Waters, would he wear his customary 54? It'd be tough seeing it and not have it be ZT.

I don't feel the need to re-hash all the moves that could have been done.....But yes, Robinson could've been had by us at a good value I think. Even if he was a project, I still see more long term benefit than, say....Hartline.

I also think a veteran FA will be brought in...Be it Kendall or Waters, or whomever. ND is marginal, Alleman is terrible, and Berger...Well let me just say I am left wondering about what has people so hyped about him when he's gone through three teams and is back on his second tour with us.

I agree that Ndukwe, Alleman and Berger are all pretty marginal. I remember when Berger was here under Saban, for a while he was the front-runner at the starting C spot until he got hurt. It's hard to figure if all of those 3 will make the team; they all have position flexibility. Ndukwe I know played some C while in Baltimore and we saw him play G and RT last year when Carey was out briefly in the opener. Alleman and Berger are both C/G's. I'd almost be inclined to keep those three and the better between Gardner and Garner as backups unless you can get Kendall or Waters for real cheap.

Obviously there is going to be some drop off when a team has to insert backups in place of its starters. That said, we won the division with Ike Ndukwe as our RG (and Alleman at LG down the stretch). They are more than serviceable. Also keep in mind that they are both really young players, so we can expect to see some improvement this season. I dont see Kendall or Waters as viable options unless we get some injuries along the interior OL, and knock wood that does not happen.

Berger was never the frontrunner, some people specualated Toledo based on being in shorts but neither guy was close to being a starter esp Berger
