Dolphins | Interested in Givens?
Tue, 7 Mar 2006 09:44:44 -0800
Ron Borges, of the Boston Globe, reports the Miami Dolphins may have an interest in WR David Givens (Patriots), who will be an unrestricted free agent.

he would fit in well with chambers and booker, his personality is simular to that of chambers. he does a gtreat job of shedding his man and his alusiveness is what keeps him so dangerous

"Givens, who is choosing to remain publicly mum until he knows who his next employer is, understands that teams like the Dolphins, Browns, 49ers, Seahawks, Vikings, Cardinals, and to a lesser extent his hometown Houston Texans, likely have an interest in him, although none can approach him until free agency officially begins." - Boston Globe

I think that this doesnt necessarily classify as Givens being interested....I think this is more like teams that would be interested IN him. Besides I dont think we'll be able to afford him...

If they would just finish the bargaining agreement we would be able to know what our cap situation will look like. If the agreement goes through i say we will be able to get him.

can ppl stop saying we can't afford so and so! im sick of it. you guys dont know how much money he will want or how much money we will or do have or what our plans even are! there isa r eason why saban let go of players at certain positions w/out us even having a backup or a guy to take that dudes place so clearly saban has somethign under his sleeve and i am almost POSITIVE he had it there a long time ago, in the months range. why would we be interested in so many players if we dont have the money? for the hell of it? smoke screen this and taht doesnt matter b/c we are interested in good players either way so if ONE is a smoke screen the other costs just as much.

Fins also need to go get Mike anderson barring the ricky sit. Mike is a good team player but can also play RB or FB.

we cant afford to get into this debate!

What good is a Givens pickup? He will want big $ - possibly #1 money because there aren't any #1 WR's out there. What has he really done to deserve anything more than #2 or #3 money? We DON'T need another #2 WR - we need a #1 guy to push Chambers. I say he will be way out of our price range and some team will over spend on the hype just like Randle El. I don't see Saban wasting his time on FA WR's because of what is available right now.
