The expectations on
Dolphins rookie guard
Jamil Douglas are already sky high. The fourth-round pick out of
Arizona State is expected to contend for the starting job at left guard, and he seems excited about his situation.
"I think that's what they drafted me for," Douglas said after Friday's first practice of the team's two-day rookie minicamp.
"They didn't draft me to sit around. So, definitely, I want to live up to that and be the guard they drafted me to be."
The Dolphins selected guards in the third round the previous two years (Dallas Thomas in 2013, Billy Turner in 2014) and both struggled to get on the field as rookies.
So can Douglas, selected a round lower, come in and fare better?
