Edgar Thompson reports:
Expected to be the QB of the future, Henne continues to struggle during camp running the two-minute offense. In fact, Henne rarely drives the team into reasonable scoring position.

This Freakin Henne is a bust thats why we picked up White this year, I knew it would come out!!!! LOL, just kidding that was for the drama queens on this board.

Henne is going to be a good one but if we dont expect him to struggle we are only fooling ourselves. This is the very reason we need to keep our proven leader. If Penny has another 2-3 years of good football in him we need to give him a starters salary to keep him. This will all play out this year but I figured I'd give you guys some good morning reading.

healthy, i think this could be a top 3 scoring defense this year. the only thing that worries me is them running towards merling & porter. i'll wait to see henne in the preseason games to judge him.

we are going to have a very good secondary with a lot of playmakers this year

If the only thing he's struggling with is the two minute offense, we aren't that bad off. As already stated, Pennington's here for a reason.

Or maybe the defense is just that good...........

Our secondary is going to be much improved, but youth will likely bring mistakes too. Henne will likely be good, but for now Penny is still MUCH better. Henne's play during camp and preseason will play alot into the FO's decision on whether or not to hand him the reins next season IMO. Both QB's are under alot of pressure this summer, Penny to keep the job and Henne to prove he can take it.

I agree that our defense will be better this year, but the defense always comes together faster in camp than the offense. It's only been a week. Usually the offense doesn't start to gell until the third preseason game.

Nothing to worry about there, starks will be there. I didn't think you could keep this guy out of the starting RDE position long with the way he played.

Now he finally has his shot and I dont think he is going to give it up.

It really doesnt matter who starts at RDE to me because no matter who it is he will get spelled a lot. We rotate our line a lot to keep em fresh.
I hope the D stays healthy like it did last year.
Henne looks so much more like a pro qb this year, he looked really small in uniform last year.

you're probably right.

This year's TC sounds like a heavyweight slugfest. One day the offense has the upperhand and the next day the D controls the action.
In previous years, the offense could only jab to keep the D away. At least this year the offese can fight back and defend themselves.

Henne will be fine. I think it being still early in camp so guys need time. I do hear he looks better than at this point last year but like someone else said i will wait till the preseason games to see for myself.

Henne is still young and the two minute drill is the toughest task for a QB in the game... I'm sure he will be fine. We were SOOOO SPOILED for so many years as... NOBODY ran it like number 13.

So many on here are hypnotized with the words 'Laser beam'... "thunderbolt' and '...on a rope'... When are people going to realize that the position requires ALOT more than a big arm..? Specifically when (like in the the 2 minute drill) the big play is taken away and then the field is shortened to under 40 yards... the big arm? Well its great for the Hail Mary when it is 4th and 43...

This is precisely the reason I refuse to look past Pennington... His veteran presence in the locker room and on the field can only benefit Henne and the team. Henne will get his shot but right now the offense belongs to the other Chad.

I guess this means that we will draft a QB in the second round again or trade for Culpepper

I am hoping that it is our defense. I also hope that playing against a better defensive backfield will help all our QB's to improve. It will do them good to work against better competition...it will make them better!!! This is good for Henne...
