The above link shows that we are $47 M in the red for next year. No need for panic. We will cut and restructure, etc to resolve that and still be able to pay for our draft.
However, we then have to sort out which FA's we can afford to keep, which will be no easy task for players we need. In addition, no way we are playing free agency next year and if we have a serious injury we will have to suck it up and deal with it on our own.

It is a tuff spot to "potentially" be in but I would change nothing on what the team is attempting to do. Going All In is a good thing for our team and all the long suffering Phinatics. All we can do is to hope for the best and back our team.

Ogbah is gone. Baker is probably going with him. Wilson, Sanders, Crossen... will all be jettisoned. Mostert and Wilson may also go.

We can get clean, but there will be more turnover than most coaches want in a calendar year.

Let’s get through the 2023 season before we start worrying about how they are going to fix their cap problem going forward. They have people they pay a lot of money to figure out how to deal with the cap and I trust those individuals to do their job properly.

I for one of countless Dolphins fans care about next year as well.

Caring about the future and being able to do something about it is two different things. Fans of the Dolphins have zero control over the cap and how the Dolphins are going to deal with it in the future.

I just prefer to enjoy the 2023 season and not worry about something I have no control over.

Agree with you, but this a slow time in off-season.

We’re only about $32M over next years cap, not $47M.

Which is essentially Ogbah, Baker and Wilson.

Keion Crossen will be cut this year, not next. That $3.155M non guaranteed salary has no place on this team. Taking his 2024 $3M salary with him. He could be re-signed for veteran minimum.

If we don’t sign Dalvin Cook, there is a good chance we rollover $13-15M+ into next year.

We don’t have a lot of room to maneuver with but it’s not as bad as it looks provided that rollover credit is an 8 figure number.

Also, if Tyreek manages to find himself suspended, I pray it’s next year when it will cost him $1.1M a game. If he’s suspended this year I am going to be PISSED at him. The FO better stretch this out to next year and not allow the suspension to be in 2023, where his whole salary is about $1.1M. F that. Suspend his dumbass in 2024 so we can at least recoup some cap space.

I am sure Tyreek would want that suspension to be this year but I am doing my best to make sure it’s next year.

I’ll make it clear to the league that if they suspend him this year, it’s just a free vacation for him. If they want to punish him, do it next year.

I do get yout point but, from a cap accounting standpoint. it is $47 M. Fangio may love Ogbah and Baker and I am not gonna speak on his behalf.

In all due respect, you have the same no control this year. Does that mean you will not comment on anything this season, as you have zero control over this as well. I guess we will talk again after the season is over. JK/LOL

Over the cap has it $31.6M.

The two of them are the top two cap specialist is the world but differ in accounting procedures. The numbers are the numbers and will all end up being the same regardless of how they spin them. t am much preferring having beers and talking football.

I can go back to find and explain the difference but to what end?

You don’t need to, over the cap is correct.

As a former regular user of Sportrrac, I’ve made the switch to the more accurate site. Even if their pages aren’t as visually appealing.
