Dolphins | Saban discusses Turley's move to tight end
Sat, 6 May 2006 21:06:01 -0700
MiamiDolphins.com reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban discussed free agent OT Kyle Turley's (Rams) move to the tight end position. Saban said, "I think that first off, you're talking about a guy who was an offensive tackle who's strength as a tight end is probably going to be his ability to block, if anything translates from the former player he was to the player that he might be now, even though it's at a different position and a little different body type relative to the weight that he's lost." He added, "But what we have been pretty pleased with is, even though I'm not ready to compare him to (Kellen) Winslow or anybody like that, he has shown a decent capacity to develop some concept of understanding in the passing game. And even though he's probably not a mismatch player when it comes to that, he's certainly been able to catch the ball with some consistency so that he may be able to develop into an all-around, on the line kind of tight end guy that we would be hopeful if we decided to take a look at him down the road, he'd be a very good blocker."

Nick could take chicken turds and make chicken cordon bleu-Kyle Turley-Freakin' amazing-this guy is first and foremost a FOOTBALL PLAYER-throwback if you like-this is gonna be an entertaining year guys

Turley has been one of my favorite players for ages. Guy goes all out and has tons of heart.

he will definately make this team and be a great TE in the red zone with his ability to block.im happy for him that he is rejuvinating his nfl career

I hope we sign him, Beasley and Turley can make some huge holes for Ronnie.

Have you seen Turley's tats?!
That's one crazy fool!
May be kind of fun having him as our #2 TE

Geez....all that, and Saban really said nothing.

I love his intensity... Everyone made a big deal about the helmet throwing against the jets but those who saw the whole highlight watched his player get theirs head nearly ripped off so he just returned the favor. I would love to go into battle with a guy like him on my side. As for the Mike Martz yelling thing... Martz is an idiot everyone should have yelled at him. I think he is well worth the risk even if he were to get injured again his contract would be minimal.

I hate to say it, but I doubt he makes the roster. Bad backs don't just go away (as I have learned by experience). The whole idea sure is fun, though.
