After watching the NFC Championship game I couldn't get over how many times the announcers said how loud it was there at Quest Field. Hearing this just got me more angry about Dolphins Stadium. The seats are too far from the field (unlike a newer stadium such as Quest Field) and has no bleachers to pound which makes more noise (similar to the Orange Bowl and Quest). Its a shame the Dolphins Stadium was built the way it was. I am not saying we would have won more super bowls or actually been in one since we moved to Dolphins Stadium but I believe our home field advantage would be greatly enhanced if our stadium was more similar to Quest Field.

Just curious to see what other people think.

Its still strong because of the heat factor. It would be nice to be louder, but good teams win anytime, anyplace, anywhere (like the Steelers have done)

Yeah living in Washington i have visited Qwest field several times. Each time i am up in the nose bleeds but it still feels like you are on the field because it is soo steep. Its actully kind of scary lol. I have also been to Dolphins Stadium and it does seem quite a distance from the field.

I agree with your points, but i dont think it really changes the out comes of games. Another thing is Dolphins stadium is just quiet period. The game i went to was a monday nighter against Philly in 2003 and the Eagle fans came in and rocked our place. It was disturbing

yeah and weve spending all that money on a new jumbotron too, ive neverbeen to dolphoins stadium but if you can't distract the other team there easily then you don't have much of a home field advantage, guess that means we'll just need to have the loudest fans in the league

We also get about 10,000 no shows every game. Fans need to get into more in Miami.

the stadium needs more up grades like the hd screen they are doing so far but they need more stuff, win games like they did last year.i think we have one of the worst stadium attendences from what i saw this year.we need to get more people going to the games

It could get loud if you had the place filled up. While watching the Orange Bowl this year betwwen Penn State and Florida State at times it got really loud. You have to have the place full and have the fans go crazy.

Yeah.. Dolphins Stadium (Still JRS to me) is no where near what the Orange Bowl used to be in Home Field advantage as far as the crowd noise...

WELL ANYONE WHOS SITTING NEAR ME WILL SAY IT GETS PRETTY LOUD IN THERE...i usually cant talk for 3 days after

i like how your talking about crowd noise but most the stadium was empty this year. The problem doesn't lie within architecture, im sure of it.

is it a possibility to build more seats down closer to the field. it seems as if the front row seats are still a few feet off the ground.... seems like we could add a couple rows to get the fans close to the action.

I have been on the field at Qwest and the noise has to be attributed to the shape of the stadium. It feels like being at the bottom of a wind tunnel or a torpedo down there...all the sound bounces off the steep pitches of the upper deck and then reverberates back and forth off either side of the stands. It's so narrow and the seats are so high that it almost feels like being in a dome.

i went to every home fins game this year and we did pretty well (not saying it couldnt be better.... alot better)other than the cheifs/ dolphins game which was on friday ..... the broncos and jets game i thought we were exceptionally loud
.... we also need to sell more seats though and not wait till the last minute to be sold out and aired on tv.:dolphins:

First off excellent thread. I have to agree with the points about the stadium needing to be louder and disagree with those who say it has no impact. Although great teams win anytime anywhere, having the advantage of noise leads to the offensive rhtyhm and timing. Which gives the home team that much more of an advantage. This is a huge issue that does not get enough attention and needs to be addressed through the team. Seattle has sold out like 23 straight games. You could tell that today.
