our team hiring Mularkey and Capers was a very good thing: each coached with Pittsburgh(Mularkey: offense, Capers: defense), which means they know a lot about the PIT d and o, so if they can help us figure that out and we get it to work then we'll be one dangerous team(hopefully we get the right QB to help though)

Yeah it will be a whole different team.

Not really.. the D will be mostly the same.. The only thing I see different is less deep passes and more running, nothing wrong with that.. especially with Ricky and Ronnie :)

No offense or nothin man... but am I missing the point to this thread? Cause I dont see one...

Mularkey wasn't there with Big Ben, so things are way different.
neither was capers?

but they still run a similar type of offense and defense.
If we could get even close to what each coach has accomplished as a coordinator I would be extremely happy.:dolphins:

the point is that the coaches that have installed the offensive and defensive systems are now working for saban

 say what

their offense is way different! they pass the ball a lot more... feature a pass catching tight end, and a Speed Back.

their defense, while the same base, uses more blitzing in years past, and also i believe they didnt have a guy by the name of polamalu back when.

It is gonna be sick different if we sign TO.

We once had Dick Lebeau, Gregg Williams, and Jerry Gray on our staff at the same time, and NE and other good teams still kicked our *****. Our best years defensivly came when Gregg Williams and Dick Lebeau were both gone, go figure, but the next year we stunk.

You need the players. Im sorry, but you guys dont have the LBs or the Saftey's to play the Blitzburg defense. It takes a different type of LB and S to run that defense. I dont see that personnel on your team.

On offense, the run game Mularkey runs, just like the STeelers do now, takes very powerfull OG's and a strong C that gets great push on every play. When we did run the ball, it was an in your face run game, not much pulling. Willis would get stuffed repeatedly because our guys couldnt move anyone. So if you have the OG's and C to physically manhandle DT's, then your all set.

One thing the Steelers have always had since Cowher took over was a probowl Center, OG's, and Big and fast OLB that could physically manhandle OT's or use speed to go right by them.

But hey, why talk about personnel, you have Gods coaching your team.
