Dolphins | Team still pondering Culpepper trade
Sun, 12 Mar 2006 18:28:07 -0800
<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/125">John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban is still contemplating a trade with the Minnesota Vikings for QB Daunte Culpepper. The Vikings aren't as adamant about asking for a second-round draft choice that could upgrade to a No. 1, but they want a second-round draft pick. One problem is the Vikings won't let Culpepper have a doctor's visit with the Dolphins, only allowing him to talk on the phone with Miami. In the next 24 hours, the Dolphins quarterback will be either Culpepper or free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers).

If we get Brees then what leverage do they have with another team? We are the only ones that have been consistently interested? They may have to settle for next to nothing in compensation.

Well I'd be fine with a 3rd a third next year, but I'd rather not give the 2nd unless it was essential to getting Daunte and the Brees plan completely bombed.

Hell if it's for a 2nd please also send over Matt Birk:D

The Vikings are A holes man Pepper lives 4 hours away from Miami, and then went lets us have a doctor check him out, bast*rds

Iknow thi swill sou fantasy like but f it were me I thik I would ask Minne for Culpepper and a 5th for the 2nd (and a 7th if we have to)....then use the 5th to get Ramsey from Wash as insurance on Culpepper. How do you like that idea?

Makes you wonder if they've got something to hide with Culpepper.

they wont let him have a docs visit cause they know he is no where near what he use to be. Over the phone, everyone sounds good over the phone. Im not for DC in Miami

why trade for Ramsey? He cant even get a atarting job in Washington, he wont be very good insurence. And DC might not be able to play until in the fall next year if then! I dont like either guy

I agree with you. I say wait until they cut him if the Brees deal falls through.
