Dolphins stuff

I see no reason for us to be in a hurry to dump either... Kilgore was at least competent
and Albert definitely got better as the season progressed. Dan may not be the starter
but he's at least good depth -- and the OL has a long way to go. I would think Wilson is
on less solid ground considering the talent we have at WR and I fully expect via draft...
But both are quality dudes and great team guys -- that will definitely be factored into
the decision IMO. If Wilson restructures it will certainly help his chances...

If Wilson returns to form I wouldn't think he going to be playing behind Hurns, he is faster than Hurns and a better runner after the catch and he seemed to be getting there at the end of the season, not sure how his injury affects him moving into 2020, there's also Isaiah Ford to think about who played well at the end of the year and is out of practice squad eligibility plus a wonderful crop of receivers in the up coming draft. Decision can wait until after the draft and FA and even OTA's.

Daniel Kilgore 3.1 mil seems OK to me, there is a New England FA that Flores might prefer Ted Karras who only graded out 1 spot better than Kilgore according to PFF.
I would like to draft a very good center high like Lloyd Cushenberry or a bit later like Matt Hennessy. Draft a RT and pick up LT and guard in FA.

Safety Reshad Jones is the one that's going to cost to remove from the roster 10 + 5 restrucure = 15 mil right off the cap + the 12 we already have, Jones has had work on both shoulders and IMO is a medical liability. Not the year to be tossing away high priced players with large dead cap hits (no CBA).

Wilson has a lot of special teams value as a returner as well - he slides into the Drake role as our most experienced punt returner, actually.

That adds value, too! I can see Miami waiting until the draft, hoping a suitable replacement falls in very very loaded WR draft... somewhere in the middle rounds

Wilson is a clear restructure, but his spot is tenuous regardless, and will likely only get more reps early because Williams is working back from his ACL injury. After he gets his feet under him again you will have Parker who is inked for the near future, Williams an emerging talent, Hurns a vet, Ford a hungry reliable guy who flashed hard at the end of the year, Grant the burner and return specialist and then Wilson. These are in no order just seems crazy to have Wilson stay at his current contract with the fact you can easily put 3 or 4 receivers above him on the roster not to mention Gesicki and this is a crazy deep draft where the value may be too great not to take someone. So guys like Grant and Wilson might be limited in the long term.

Kilgore I'm Meh with, I think he needs to stay because even if they get 4 players along the line we have zero depth and leadership. Centers seem to transition well, and if the Fins do draft one I can see a good battle in camp. One Kilgore likely wins but you could see the rookie take over at some point. And it will be fair to note if the guard play gets better through FA and the draft you could see his play jump up because of the competency of his fellow linemen. If the Fins draft a RT and kick Davis to RG and picked up a Thuney kind of guy to play LG you would be extremely hard pressed to say Kilgore wouldn't look better and produce more. So not a bad thing to keep a guy who has been there and done that.

Where are you getting that idea. In the last two seasons, Wilson has returned exactly 0 kicks or punts, and he surely isn't going to play coverage.

Misspoke there TWICE - college + his time in Kansas City AND it was kick return, not punt return. TY for keeping me honest.

As for the rest... That seems to be the word in the building! I've been hearing 1. hes a team player that seems to help coaches get their system bought into, 2. He seems to be recovering well from his injury, and his burst returning was actually a little bit ahead of schedule.

If he is wiling to reduce his agreement to something along the lines of a... 2 year 15 with 5 guaranteed... that type of thing... I really have trouble not seeing him in a Dolphins uni :)

Hard to say what they have in mind. I agree, though, he won't be back at his current $. It also makes little sense to keep both him, and Grant.

I'm feeling GRANT might be the odd man out. That'd be fine by me. Don't hate him, just not seeing the production I was hoping for following his rookie season. Love how WILSON was looking towards the end of the season.

Couldn't agree more. They need to keep Kilgore in camp until they find someone who can take the job from him. There are no guarantees how the draft will unfold. It's not like they need the cap space.

Wilson is a prime candidate to restructure. He will only be 28 and has no guarantees left. He should want an extension just for the guaranteed money. Surely he knows his market is down after the injuries.
