IMO
With the right decision at OC, and a little luck, Miami's passing offense could go from disappointment this year, to special in 2014. Consider the talent that will be coming back, could be coming back.....
QB:
Ryan Tannehill
The book is still open on him, obviously we still don't know how good he can be, but there are quite a few facts that has to make you very excited if your a Dolphins fan.....(Idea size/height...Highly intelligent...w/ average time is highly accurate....athletic), does need work on deep ball.
Matt Moore
Good backup, could be inconsistent, but has shown he can come off the bench and be highly efficient, and does have a great deep ball, could start multiple games with no problem.
WR:
Mike Wallace
Everyone has said, from him being a one trick pony, to not being a true #1 receiver, to finally being too inconsistent to be thought as a top receiver. What nobody can deny is he a dangerous weapon, needs to be accounted for, and does change the complexion of the game by just being on the field...oh, and even though he did not have a good year, he was able to get 5 TDs almost 1000 yard season (Yards short)...not bad for an off-season, and not producing as much early as he di later in the season.
Brian Hartline
This is his 2nd straight 1000 yard season, you can say it's because Tannehill seems to feel comfortable with him, because he was helped by having Wallace on the other side, or he is the real deal, but the main thing to take from this, he has had 2 1000 yard season. Hartline runs great routes, makes very tough catches, and eve though his speed is world class, every year, he gets multiple games where he either beat the secondary for a deep catch, or made a catch, and got huge yards after.
Brandon Gibson
Miami's most consistent receiver, most consistent to get yards after the catch, and best option on 3rd down. When Miami let go of Bess for Gibson, many were nervous we lost our most consistent receiver for someone that had only one good year to speak of, well, Gibson was all we could hope for, and more. The best compliment I could give him in my opinion is, if he had not gotten hurt, Miami would have reached the playoffs, and might have actually overtaken the Patriots in the AFC east.
Armon Binns
This is more of a question mark, then a fact, but the way Binns was looking in camp and in preseason, he was becoming too good to keep as the 3rd or 4th receiver. If Miami brings him back, and Binns can play like this in 2014, Miami will be a nightmare to cover in 3 and 4 receiver formations.
Rishard Matthews
The receiver with best hands on the team if the ball is going to him, and there is a chance to catch it, he will almost always make the play. If he can get better at getting open, work on his route running, this guy is a true up and coming receiver with possible greatness screaming all around him.
TE:
Charles Clay
Clay became the player we all hoped he would be last year, and made losing Keller far easier to handle. With 6 TDs, he was our top player getting the ball in the endzone, but if it wasn't for taking so long to use him, the little amount of time Tannehill had to throw the ball, Clay could have had a much better season around the endzone, with around 10 TDs or maybe more.
Dustin Keller
What could have been, this guy could have been a force for Miami, and the way he was looking in preseason, he would have become a very important piece for Tannehill...especially with the way the O-line was looking. If Keller is healthy, and is brought back, he will make Miami a much better offense with just him added.
Dion Simms
The physical measurables are there, and if he can work hard enough on his route running, and his blocking (was supposed to be his specialty), this guy could be a good redzone target, and the all around TE Miami needs.
Michael Egnew
Just added this name to say the obvious, this guy is useless, Miami needs to get rid of him as son as possible.
RB:
Lamar Miller
The perfect compliment RB to a true power back, if given just a little room, can consistently get 3 ore more yards (Normally averaging about 4 yards a carry), and has enough speed, where if a defense messes up, he an make a good run into a great run in the blink of an eye, but does need to become a better receiver out of the backfield, and more instinctive when he does catch a pass.
Daniel Thomas
Our most consistent receiver out of the backfield, if he could become a better more consistent runner, he would be the ideal starting RB for Miami. He has size, but can not get the tough yards wen he runs, yet a receiver, he is able to get yards after the run on size alone...go figure.
Marcus Thigpen
Our most dangerous receiving RB, as he can play receiver, and is very dangerous every time he catches a ball, I would love to see him get more chances, he proved a few times that covering him was tough, tackling him after he caught a pass was even tough.
If Miami can get a top OC, can fix the O-line, and get a real power back we can rely on when we need 2 yards or less, this offense will be very good in my opinion.
