Dolphins | Team talking with Wilkinson

Jason Cole, writing for the Sporting News, reports the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins have been in talks with free agent DT Dan Wilkinson (Lions) in hopes of improving the depth and ability they have on the interior of their defensive line.

Cool.....

I'd like to take a chance on Wilkinson. He's massive, add in Traylor, and we're huge up front in 2006. Running against us with any kind of consistancy will not be easy, and signing Wilkinson would make things easier for Traylor as well....

I'm all for it. I think Saban / Capers can get some good production out of him for a couple more years. Carter / Holliday have done well under Saban, so Wilkinson should blend right in with the other vets we've got on defense....

He also sounds stoked about Miami. That's good news too....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Hopefully we will get him. Having two DT's in the middle that weight around 330 would be great for the run support. I doubt any RB would be able to get past Traylor and Wilkinson running up the middle.

Nice! Big Daddy needs to be "Big Daddy Dolphin". We can show him what it's like to play for a competent organization, something he hasn't had the fortune of.

After watching him play for the Lions I know he would be an awesome addition to our team. The Lions made a mistake letting him go.

he would be great but can we sign him with all the other players saban has signed this off season

that would be huge we need to sign him we will be awesome against the run for sure.....

That would be great if we nabbed him. I'm sure he can teach Manny, Rod and Kevin a thing or two.

if we sign him u know how our run defense will be??? nobody will be able to run the ball or stay in the pocket trying to throw the ball downfield:sidelol:

We didn't sign any superstar like Ty Law or Lavar Arrington...The most expensive signings were Shelton, Culpepper, and Harrington..... So we should be able to sign Wilkinson.

uhh culpepper is a superstar duh !

I'm not sure I like the idea. We have a lot of young talent at DT and we would give up a roster spot for it. I personally feel with some of theese young guys learning the system from scratch could be better than a 13 year veteran set in his ways. I could be wrong, but lets pave the way for our future, Wright, Vickerson, Evans with Traylor... and Wright from Texas on PUP till next season.
