Bill Lowry, senior director of security for Dolphin Stadium in Miami, where the Miami Dolphins play, said ... he was working with Westwood One to develop a game-day [traffic alert] service for fans. Believed to be the first of its kind in the N.F.L., the service will send alerts to people as they approach the stadium telling them of accidents, slowdowns and parking availability.

Last year, they said they were going to try to improve traffic flow around the stadium, but instead in somehow managed to make it worse. I'm personally a little suspicious that they didnt put one of those high school dropouts doing parking in charge of designing traffic flow.

I dont need the Dolphins sending me a text message telling me that University south of Griffin has turned into a colossal monument to human failure.

I can help, get there early, then after the game stay and finish gettting completely bombed in the parking lot until traffic thins.... It's worked for me over the years....

This has always been my M.O. as well......

BOTTOMS UP ! :finfan72:

When I went to the Minnesota game last year, It took 40 minutes to get from the parking lot to Red Road.

The police/security didn't allow us to go east on Ives Dairy Road (Dan Marino Blvd.) or north on Unity Boulevard, both towards the turnpike. Since we were in the Camry Zone (Gate 10), they forced us west with the local traffic on Ives Dairy. We eventually made it to the Turnpike on Red Road but it was a hassle.

If they really want to improve traffic, they need to make traffic one way when the game ends on Unity Boulevard. Thats six lanes that are going to waste...no traffic report can solve problems with 75,000 exiting fans.

Though I think it's awfully nice that the Turnpike Authority waives the fees for the tolls in the area on the Turnpike after the games. That definitely relieves highway traffic.

Let's just hope that you don't emulate Tank Johnson. Always keep it safe and have a designated driver.

Traffic after that game was terrible. I-95 was backed up and they made everyone get off. It took forever to get home.

I hope they fix it. I drive a couple of hours for the games I do come to see and I dread the traffic leaving the stadium. I always get there early so haven't seen that ugliness yet.

I never had a problem with getting to the games, since I usually leave Port Saint Lucie at like 7 in the morning. Me and my dad were one of the first guys in the lot, and we got there at 9, almost 10. The season ticket holders lots were already pretty buzzing, but you know, if you're a season ticket holder, you're probably going to get there pretty early to rally the troops.

They used to have public transportation to the stadium...for people who didnt want to drive or be bothered with all that traffic..and for people who didnt drive yet still wanted to attend games...a shame they dont anymore
