Dolphins trade deadline rumors

I can read and that's what you said and keep implying but whatever. We'll see next season if he's still the head coach. The season is over for me. Nothing left to watch with this team. It is clear no matter who the head coach or GM is next season they are clearly behind the other 3 teams in the division. The Bills & Patriots have their franchise QBs and better rosters. The Jets have a lot more resources to rebuild their roster. The Dolphins have very little talent and not enough resources to fill the gaps. So if Ross wants to trot McDaniel & Tua out there again in 2026 to win 4 or 5 games who really cares at this point. This team is cooked for the foreseeable future.

Lol.. no, it's not what I said. But it's all good. Time to move on. Enjoy next season

Gardner and Williams are players that other teams wanted and willing to give up significant draft capital for.

Phillips seems to be the only player other teams wanted besides Waddle and Achane who we value more than the rest of the NFL does.

In fairness, we really don't know what other teams offered. Could have been cheap, could have been good. We don't know and will never know other then random rumors days from now that such and such team offered such and such pick. Which none of that can be trusted since the trade never happened

You’re not factoring in being tied to Daniel jones with no chances of improvement for the next 2-3 years along with giving him a big money contract so yeah that’s pretty crazy to be risking your window on Daniel jones after we’ve seen what happens when he gets paid big money.
The Colts won't win squat this year then in 2026 they come back down to earth and win 7 games. Giving the Jets a top 10 to 15 pick.

Desperate times call for desperate measures from desperate teams... Fins fall into this category. They can no longer approach this as if they need to "win the trade". Chubb, Fitzpatrick etc... are not going to be part of this rebuild so you take what you can for them and move on.

Just go read Fever's whole fkn thread on it. Explains the cap situation

I think it was this post on Reddit by Cidoflus, (I can’t find the thread here where this was posted) that fully detailed in depth and with full numbers the ramifications of those contracts, and overall cap situation. The bottom line is, it’s bad.

Which is why I think this is an awful trade for them. Wouldn’t shock have been better off throwing us a late rounder for rasul and maybe doubling down signing Asante Samuel. Atleast doesn’t crush the possibility of bringing in a qb and not tying yourself to Daniel jones.

Thats kinda what im saying, arguing WR1 or not is immaterial, Waddle isnt worth a 1st round pick, is what we learned today.
lol… kind of a weird way to think.

Why is he not a worth a 1st round pick? You have absolutely no way of knowing that. I mean, zero chance that you can know that. You can, of course, have that as your opinion, but we didn’t “learn today” from your obtuse opinion. 😂

Maybe teams who need a WR, and think he’s worth a 1st, have more pressing issues and don’t want to give up their 1st round pick? Maybe there are multiple teams who think he’s worth a 1st round pick, but don’t need another WR? At the very least, the Dolphins think he’s worth a 1st round pick IF someone offered them something else other than a 1st round pick.

I can’t believe we didn’t trade Chubb,Minkah,Judon. Niners needed pass rushers and Dallas needed a safety.

Chubbs contract sucks and his timeline isn’t good.

I didn’t want to trade Waddle not even for a 1st rounder.

That link doesn’t take me anywhere.

If it’s the same thing I think I read from him awhile back, I addressed it. He has a lot of things wrong.

The part where the NFL insider (who knows more than anyone on this site) says "A team couldn't trade for Waddle for less than a one" means no one was willing to give up a one for Waddle.

Thats called the "market" setting a value.

When an entity wants to sell something, they put a price on an item. If no-one buys said item, the aforementioned entity set the price above market value or in otherwords they set it too high.

Therefore, Waddle isnt worth a one, becuase the market just dictated he wasnt worth a one.

To take a page out of @Nappy Roots playbook...

For a toy, it's the price someone would pay if you sold it today, and for a company, it's the total value of all its shares if you sold them all at the current price. It's what a willing buyer would pay and a willing seller would accept.

How it works for a toy

Imagine you have a special toy that everyone wants.

You and a friend agree that the toy is worth a certain amount of money today.

That amount is the "market value" of your toy right now.

This is a lot of nonsense to be honest.

Take what he said about Chubb being a “must” trade this year. Releasing Chubb will create $20m in cap space. Yeah, there’s dead cap, but that would have been true even if he were traded. There’s really no difference for the Dolphins except MAYBE saving what else he’s still owed this year.

Now try reading my post in its entirety and understanding it this time around. 😂

And nappy is probably not happy that you brought him up to me. I embarrassed him pretty badly on the cap topic and he just silently went away.

I’m guessing the Chubb ask was probably a 4th and no way should anyone pay that.

Oh well. Cut this offseason.
