7:30 p.m. – Practice

** Head Coach Nick Saban will be available following morning practice coming off the field.

** Players will be available upon return to the Renaissance-Plantation Hotel at approximately 11:45 a.m.

NOTES:

§ The team practiced for approximately one hour in shells on Monday morning.
§ Among players signing autographs for fans on Thursday morning were S Jason Allen, LB Mike Labinjo and WR Wes Welker.

§ The Dolphins announced today they have signed DT Dan Wilkinson to a three-year contract. To make room for Wilkinson, the team waived LB Trent Bray.

THEY SAID IT…

T L.J. Shelton on the first preseason game last Saturday – “I would have liked to be in there a little longer to get my feet a little more wet. It feels nice being in that jersey, being in front of those fans at that stadium, but it’s the preseason. You have to take it for what it is. I’ll have a few more snaps this week to get used to it.”

LB Channing Crowder on Junior Seau – “He’s a legend. Junior Seau is a legend. As a player he was known for going out there and running around having a good time. I like playing with him. He loved the game and he was so smart with it. I think he should be inducted the next time they have an election for the Hall of Fame because he is one of the best linebackers of all-time.”

LB Channing Crowder on his being six years old when Seau entered the National Football League – “That’s crazy. I used to put him at running back on Madden ’95 because he was the player on the team. He was the best player on the entire game. I had him at running back and linebacker on Madden ’95. To play with him, that was an honor, really.”

LB Channing Crowder on the addition of Dan Wilkinson – “The Big Daddy. That will be nice to have him and big Truck (Keith Traylor) out there. You can just run around and have fun then. I was happy to see him walk in the locker room today. If you don’t have any lineman up on you, all you have to do is chase the running back around. It goes back to backyard football, just run and tackle. He’s a seasoned veteran, an amazing guy – strong, big, he does everything. It’s just another amazing guy up there to add on so we’re real happy. Me and Zach (Thomas) both went to him and said, ‘what’s up, happy to have you. You’ll make our jobs a lot easier.’”

gotta love Crowder, he's quickly becoming one of my favorite Dolphins...

If I was a LB, I'd love to have Wilkinson and Traylor too. Especially if they were on the field at the same time. I C or G would never reach a LB if that were the case.

I'll be watching Crowder more this coming season. The season after the Rookie season usually says alot. Im expecting Channing to deliver and then some.
