Dolphins activate OT Eric Smith, promote TE Thomas Duarte from the practice squad, signed OT Avery Young and CB Taveze Calhoun to the practice squad.
not sure how much it says as he is a guard but regardless I am upset that he didn't even play this year at all and was kept behind bushrod Larsen Davis Young etc....glad Davis has come along and may be a starter next year again, but had hopes for him but oh well, swing and a missWhat does this say about asiata

Asiata will be fine. They made the call that this is a year to build up his physical strength. The call was made early in Training Camp and I kind of like the way Gase and Co have committed to Asiata's development by sticking to the gameplan. This is effectively his red shirt year in the NFL. Some teams like Green Bay and Minnesota stick rigidly to this sort of gameplan in developing late round personnel. If Isaac isn't given an opportunity in next year's pre-season, then we clearly have a problem but I expect him to compete strongly - he will also be hungry to succeed. He is physically the heaviest guy on the roster but it was clear that he needed to significantly improve his physical strength. What does this say about asiata
With his age idk how many years he can afford to "redshirt"Asiata will be fine. They made the call that this is a year to build up his physical strength. Yes, but they made that decision, unlike what they decided to do with Davis for instance and Smith possibly if he was not injured. I know we get frustrated but look if he was not ready to play yet it is what it is. Heck Omar was saying he looked so bad in camp etc that he thought he would be cut, not that he is an authority but I think the coaches decided against putting him out there as well.

Oh i understand that he wasn't ready to start the year but i figured with the team in the state that it is right now i would see asiata get some reps. Not the end of the world and maybe sitting out the entire year helps light a fire under his ***.
