<A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins P Matt Turk (groin) missed practice Friday, Sept. 9 and is unlikely to play in the season opener versus the Denver Broncos Sunday, Sept. 11. The club will call up P Donnie Jones from the practice squad to replace Turk in Week 1.

I'm thinking more like Glenn gets the boot again.

If that happens, that would kind of be messed up simply because Glenn decided not to pursue any of the other offers because Saban talked to him "Man to Man" and gave him his word. On the other hand, it's still a business. I say, Let Welker be our punter!!!! JK

I think this could be the end of Turk if Donnie is brought up. Once a player is on the 53 man roster from the PS, he must be released and clear waivers before he can go back to the PS. If Donnie does well, there's a chance that he could be picked up during the waiver process

Why not release Turk and call up Jones. That way Turk's contract is not guaranteed for the year and if he has no offers and is healthy we can resign him and if not big deal - he sucks anyways.

This is what I said yesterday, minus the, he sucks.

release turk, a groin injury takes like four weeks to heal and he is a punter which means he needs his groin more then everyone else, put him on pup, so you got a six week interview for the other guy

Turk is not eligible for PUP. The parameters for being placed on PUP have been explained on this board ad nauseum, so if you do a little searching you can find it. The options with Turk are: terminate his contract, keep him on the 53 man roster, or place him on IR.
