By now you might of heard the news of Jason Ferguson going to IR. Omar Kelly Sun-Sentinel reporter reports that the Fins will be placing Jason Ferguson on IR according to source. A huge crushing blow nontheless, but it will be the first of a series of roster move Miami makes during their 10 day break. The second move the Fins make is filling Big Ferg's spot. It is gonna be interesting to see who they choose to bring in. Will Miami sign someone or elevate a player from their PS, like they have done with Nate Ness & Kory Sperry. Sperry has started two games with Miami and has become a possible success story.

The Fins have an open Practice Squad spot after signing Nate Ness to the active roster a spot I think they will fill and must. Also if Miami chooses to elevate a player from their PS to fill Ferg's spot they now have two open spots on their PS, both must be filled. In total, we are are talking about four roster Miami will make during their break.

After thinking about the possible moves Miami might make and knowing they could bring players from their PS up to the active roster, I wanted to see what our PS roster looked like. So I did some research and found the answer to my question. Hopefully this helps alot of you, who like me are interested in knowing.

Here is your current 2009 Practice Squad Roster:
Those are all seven players who are currently on the PS. There is an open spot to be filled and there could be two if Miami decides to elevate someone from their PS, if rumors are true of Jason Ferguson going to IR . Miami will be making atleast three roster moves in the coming days and when all is done four moves could have been made during the week by Miami.

The Fins are known for their ability to find success in UDFA, FA and players who have come from other teams Practice squads. Carpenter, Bess, Sperry, Polite, Haynos & Garner all at one point have either been an UDFA, a FA or Practice Squad player playing from an opposing team. It will be an interesting week.

My guess would be they bring Hartline off the PS just to add some depth to a banged up O-line. Not saying he will be activated next Sunday but they might sign him.

His upside is that he can play all 3 interior spots, how well he plays them idk.

There is no need for Miami to do that, the Fins have Berger, Nate Garner, Lydon Murtha & Andrew Gardner all signed to the active roster. All are backups.

Ryan Baker is a possibilty being that he is a Dlinemen, but so is James Robinson. There no question Miami needs help at WR. But then there is J.D. Folsom who can play ST, why lose a guy you drafted to an opposing team.

God I'd **** my pants if either of those two WRs were our answer. How great would that be :)

James Robinson would be the on eI would love to see. The guy is 6'3 and has 4.3 speed.

Andrew Gardner hasn't been active in even one game all year, I know what you mean though. I think it will depend on Grove, Berger and Smiley's health, if all 3 are fine then they defiantly won't make a O-line move (obviously) but if 2 of the 3 are still banged up then they will have to do something to add depth. Just because Murtha, Garner and Gardner are there and may move up doesn't mean you don't then have to replace them on the bench.

As far as receiver they already have a guy activated that isn't getting reps (Turner) I don't see them bringing another one up.

^ If someone was gonna grab JD they already would have none it besides he just cleared waviers before we resigned him to the PS, so no other team is interested.

Friday the UFL season ends players are allowed to sign as soon as they are done playing the Championship game. I wonder if Miami will be interested in any of those guys.

There is more talent on the NFL practice squads. Ex Fin Davis Kircus is 2nd in the league in receptions if that tells you anything. Oh and the guy that leads the league isn't much better.

There is talent in theUFL most of these guys have been in NFL at one point and been productive. Im interested in seeing if we pick up someone from the UFL.

Then I say give Robinson a chance.

Thing Turner is already taking up a roster spot and has not even been seen on the field other then ST. God I miss London, would to see him back.

Like who? I posted the link to the UFL player stats and the cupboard looks pretty bear to me. If you see someone on there worth giving a shot let me know who it is. I'm not trying to be a smarta** I just really don't see anybody.

London? There is a reason he's still looking for work. He didn't even catch on with another teams PS after we let him go.
