when the pendulum swings so far in one direction.only one way to go from here.and i say this team will be ****ed and ready.we have a great core group of players,that i believe are special players in this league.so with fa pick ups and this draft w/parcells and co. you will soon be hearing our new theme song of "will you marry me bill"
 
We definitely weren't as bad as our record showed last year.

Its crazy to think that a 1-15 team would make the playoffs the following year. U need ALOT of things to go right.

First, Beck has to be the guy and show he can be a solid NFL QB.

All 3 current RB's need to be at their best.

We HAVE to have a solid OLine

The youngsters need to step up . . . Jason Allen, Derrick Hagan, Matt Roth, Rod Wright, Abe Wright, Channing Crowder, Ronnie Brown, Quentin Moses, Ted Ginn, Paul Solai . . . everybody needs to have an impact . . . whether if they start or as situational/depth players.

Need a SOLID draft, and CANT miss on any of the first couple of picks.

Special Teams needs to do a 180 from last year

Better coaching

Defense needs to show that last year was a fluke and play up to what we Fin fans are used to seeing from this D in recent years.


That is alot to overcome to make the playoffs . . . but nothing is impossible . . . u just need alot of luck . . . anything is possible.
 
I am usually pretty optimistic, but the fact we play in the AFC, have a lot of ?'s and need to stay healthy i would say making the playoffs is a longshot. I would be very happy if we finished anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7. That would be a nice improvement.

we will be improved but rome wasnt built in a day.
 
I feel like some of you guys come into threads just to bash them. If you don't have anything constructive to contribute then why even bother coming in? My honest opinion is that we will make the playoffs this year. Last year we had a large amount of injuries and although our record didn't show it - we were competitive in a lot of the games. I just get that gut feeling that this year things our going to swing in our favor. Hopefully we can bolster the offensive line and get some solid play from our starting quarterback. I think we have a good offensive, I'm more confident about this offense then any other offenses we've had in the recent past.

I think the running game will be there. Ricky and Ronnie are too talented to not put up at least above average numbers together. I think if we're a run first team, control the clock type of offense, only good things can happen in the passing game.

Not only that but I think players will really work hard knowing that Bill is watching. I know he's not coaching the team but if you don't think playing for his team isn't motivation, then you are wrong my friend. I wish I knew some of you guys personally for the face that there are NO Dolphins fans where I'm from, and I'd like to bet some of you that we make the playoffs this year!
 
Miami has a chance to make the playoffs in 2011 not before....This team is garbage and will take 4 off seasons to getter better

its not bashing, but broadly speaking you 2 types of posters on here - homers and realists. the homers will overestimate the teams capabilities due to them wanting them to win and partly due to lack of knoweldge about the nfl teams outside the fins. The realists will be more on the sceptical side and will try to look at things from the outside in, maybe underestimating the team.

But honestly IMO playoffs with a not great defense, unproven qb, promising but unproven 1# reciever and shabby o-line is gonna be a struggle.
the browns didnt make it with a pro-bowl qb, wr, te and lt.

id be happy with 5 wins in fairness. thats a 500% increase on last year!!
 
Anything is possible, but us making the playoffs this year isn't very probable. Teams can however turns things around very very quickly these days, and I wouldn't rule anything out. To me though and this is just my opinion we could make a playoff push IF we draft Jake Long, and John Beck shows he's a good QB right away this season. If we have a very solid or dominant O-Line and good play from the QB I think this team will be right in the thick of things. Call me crazy I don't care but that's just my opinion.
 
after last season the only thing I want is a couple more wins. it was too heartbreaking to see the fins lose game after game. i felt like i was slipping into depression. therefore all i want this season is somewhere around 4 wins. I think we can do a little better than that though....my guess is 5-11 or maybe even 6-10. perhaps the playoffs within the next 3-5 years

Just wait, someone else will come in and do so shortly. Why is it because many of us are being a little more realistic about the building process, we are being negative or bashing of others? We all want the team to do really well and make it to the super bowl, but we need to be realistic about this. We were 1-15 last year (one play away from being 0-16). We have a bunch of HUGE holes we need to fill. To think we can fix all our problems (which have been created over the course of years) in one off-season, just isn't be realistic and it doesn't mean we're less of a fan for knowing/saying this. It just means we haven't done too much of this :beer1: before posting.
