Dolphins | Williams lukewarm to CFL
Thu, 4 May 2006 19:47:31 -0700
NFL Network, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams is only lukewarm to the idea of playing in the CFL. Those close to him say Williams would prefer to take the year to improve himself as much as he feel he did during the year he was banned from the NFL. He loves football and will miss it, but Williams also loves self improvement.

LOL

Ricky being Ricky. Turning down money and a chance to stay in shape to "improve" in India or whanot smoking up a storm.

I love Ricky on the field, but damn is he is a peculair indidual.

Until he blows out a knee playing in the CFL and is unable physically to return to the NFL.

Dont sound like hes going to play for them to me but with ricky u never no.

Seems too much available time on hand, never does anyone a bit of good.

Particularly with regards to bored, inactive, languishing NFL talent, for whom its been a harbinger, of dread and doom.

Wicky doesn't want to play football.....PERIOD! Whether it's the CFL or NFL it doesn't matter.

Waste of talent :shakeno:

last time he took a year off, he came back and avg 4 plus yards a carry. and was noticably faster. all this healthy livin is just going to prolong his career. he says he not smoking anymore and into being spirtual. nothing wrong w/ that. when he comes back next year ronnie brown will have a year under his belt as top dog and we will have the best back up running back in the nfl.

Oh come on they probally wouldnt even make him practice he's Ricky Frickin Williams, all he would have to do is show up on sundays.....or whatever day they play in Canada and run for 300 yards every game on NFL wanna-be defenses

He could self improve 6 days a week

risk of injury outweighs whatever good will come of canadian foosball playing.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what he wants to do. In other parts of the world, our lifestyle here in the U.S.A. would be considered strange or even sinful. Think about the fact that there are something like a billion people in India, and not nearly that in America.(You can go check the numbers for exact figures.) If you want to get technical, that makes us the oddballs. People rush to judge their simplistic way of life....mostly out of ignorance to eastern philosophy. Take a little while to research their belief system, and many of you will change your tune. Everyone continuosly says Ricky is "out there", but who's really the one "out there" ? The materialistic people that we all know, including ourselves.

I think Ricky's thought process of taking a year to better himself (spiritually), is quite admirable. It's way more important than him ever running for a thousand yards, or making the probowl. Get your priorities straight, people. I love the game of football as much as any of you, but there are more important things in life.
