1972, the perfect season- The biggest movies were Cabaret, The Candidate, Deliverance, and The Godfather.

The biggest songs were The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Alone Again, American Pie, Without You, Cady Man, and My Ding A Ling.

In 1984 (last visit to the SB) The movies were Ghostbusters, Beverly Hills Cop, Temple of Doom. Gremlins, The Karate Kid, and Police Academy.

The biggest songs were What's Love Got To Do With It, Say, Say, Say, Footloose, Against All Odds, and Ghostbusters.

It seems longer when you put it perspective to everything else going on.

Ho many remember both or, at least one? Any other memories to share on either?

The last time the Miami Dolphins went to the Super Bowl, Eddie Murphy was known as a blockbuster young comedian and actor.

Today, Eddie Murphy is known as a guy who picks up transvestites at 3 o'clock in the morning.

I wasn't alive in '72 but I did see your SB apps in '82 & '84 when I just started watching football. I was actually rooting for Miami in those SBs, I always used to root for AFC teams in the SB.

I was found guilty of wanting the pats win their first which I thought was a fluke they got there, if I remember correctly it was against Green Bay. It was only that the patriots were nothing growing up they were the seahawks/cardinals of our division.

I wanted the Bills to win their first one, the second time I didn't care their 3rd I just figured you couldn't lose 3 in a row that just can't happen.

There is a feeling when a rival gets there out of the blue you want some legitimacy for your teams division so want them to win one but not a dynasty.

I loved the 2008 wildcat game. i was in school in RI and everyone was a patsy, If anyone has that game on their computer I would love a copy.

The only times I have rooted against AFC teams in the SB have been:

Oak 2002- couldn't stand them after they beat us in back to back postseasons
NE 2004- I was sick of them winning
Ind 2009- they just beat us in title game
Pitt 2010- they just beat us in title game

I rooted for Miami in '82, '84
NE in '85, '96, '01(won a decent amount of money on that one), '03, '07, '11
Buf '90, '91, '92, '93

I hope to someday be able to root for my team in a SB

Those Miami teams of the early mid 80s were when I first start watching football. Miami was our biggest rival back then and we always seemed to play entertaining games against each other.

What station were you listening to?
Van Halen- Jump
Carribean Queen- Billy Ocean
When the Doves Cry- Prince
Legs- ZZ Top
Cum on Feel the Noise - Quiet Riot
Pink Houses- Mellencamp

You left out Johnny Dangerously

I was there. It was as good as it was on TV. Seeing that stadium half empty in the 3rd quarter will always prove to me that 90% of their fan base are fraudulent frontrunners.

The last meaningful thing the Dolphins did in the playoffs that I was alive for was 2000 vs. Indianapolis. Lamar Smith's TD run in OT for the win. I've looked for video for it online but haven't come up with anything.

I was a year out of high school then. **** me. :refuse:

I just started watching football, the -84 Superbowl is one of the first games I ever remember. I remember the hype about the Fins, even after the game. Everyone said this young Miami QB will be back. I have been waiting ever since. Perhaps a more appropriate thread would be; Most disappointed moment when you thought we had turned the corner. My votes: 1992 AFC Championship. We finally won the first round playoff game (pounded the Bolts 31-0) then we finally had a home playoff game against the Bills. A chance to make things right. Nope. 29-10 Buffalo.
