Dolphins WR's not even ranked in top ten?

Not to be a homer, but I would say they are correct. We really don't have a great group of receivers YET (if you are looking at past years). Chambers made the pro bowl, but that was a couple years ago. I do think we have the guys now in Chambers, Ginn, Booker, and Hagan to get into the top ten, but we have not HAD a top ten group in many years.

Check out this article, they rank the top ten WR corps. and the Dolphins are not even ranked....what a joke.

I would have the Dolphins WR's ranked 7th best behind New England, what do you guys think?

I dont agree with the accuracy of this list. First I would put Cinci at second ahead of Arizona, and St. Louis at three ahead of Arizona...I dont agree with Denver or Baltimore being on the list and I think Dallas should have been ranked before both. Rod Smith and Mason are getting old and arent elite anymore. Denver has Walker but beyond that they really dont have anything else. I also dont agree with Pittsburgh, behind Hines ward Pitt doesnt have anything for WR's..Santonio hasnt proven anything..In terms of last year, I dont think Miami recievers have broken into top 10 yet...YET!

At the end of this year if Ginn makes an immediate impact we will have an improved WR corps for sure. There is potential on this roster. And I can wait to see if Hagan blows up along with Ginn making game changing plays.

Having said that based on what happened last year and the fact we have unfullfilled potential there is no way I would put us at 7 or in the top 10. Taking the homer glasses off for a moment and being totally practical and not necessarily trying to be pessimistic we are not even in top 15. If the combo of size and speed is all that was required yeah we would be looking good. But, how may TDs our wr's caught last year? How bad we were as a scoring offense? and better yet how many times we saw Dolphin WRs drop catcheable passes especially potential first down conversions on 3rd down?

No we ain't bottom of the barrell. Don't get me wrong. I would say based on last year's performance only somewhere between 15 and 20. This year is a different year and as duly noted if we get significant progress from Hagan and Ginn and if Chambers is consistent for once then we could have one heckuva WR corps that will cause opposing D's serious issues.

I wouldn't rank us in the top half of the league right now. Depending on how Ginn and Hagan perform this year, I could definitely see us moving up the list. But right now, no way.

LOLLLLL you think we have a top 10 wr core... Ted ginn has a lot to prove, hagan had dissappointing rookie campaign, chambers coming off his worst year, wes welker led in receptions and is Gone, only consistant one is booker but he doesnt really scare anyone. WAKE UP we're not good.

Those ratings are a joke. I'll agree with 1-4... but Detriot Lions #5 WR Corp? They have Roy Williams, whom is a top fifteen WR. Mike Furrey, an overachiever who did well because the Lions threw the ball a lot. Calvin Johnson, whom hasn't played an NFL down. Yet they're rated #5, over the Cowboys, the Patriots, etc. I can deal with the ratings up until the Baltimore Ravens. Derrick Mason is going downhill and Mark Clayton isn't a number one WR yet. The Steelers boggle me as well, same deal as the Ravens. I don't know if Miami has top ten WRs, but I don't see how some of those teams are rated so high, especially Detriot.

Well where does every1 think the Dolphins shuld be ranked for there WR corp?

were do they have the dolphins ranked
they have us at 14...pats at 7...jets at 15...bills at 21
14. Miami Dolphins
Although Chris Chambers is one of the most overrated players in the league, this is not a bad group from top to bottom. Miami surprised many people by drafting Ted Ginn Jr. with the ninth pick in the 2007 draft, but if he can get back to full health (he's recovering from a sprained foot), Ginn is an extremely dangerous player, both on offense and as a returner. His receiving skills are very raw and he drops too many passes, but he has world-class speed that translates to the football field very well. Expect him to be used on a lot of reverses and quick hitches to go along with deep streak routes, where he has the potential to just blow by most starting cornerbacks. Chambers certainly is talented, but needs to be a more consistent producer. Marty Booker is declining, but is still a solid player, even though he offers little big-play ability. Derek Hagan could surprise in his second season.

No, you are right, you are the antithesis of a homer. You actually see the team more negative than they actually are. I hate to keep bringing Booker up, but he is a good receiver who has been underutilized. He was one of the NFC's most productive WR's when he played for the Bears. He gets traded here and all he sees is dysfunctional offensive team with revolving door QB's.
Chambers made the pro bowl in 2005, but prior to that he had a few seasons where he was close.
I think with a true starting caliber QB like Trent Green you will see vast improvement from this receiving corp this year.

I agree, everyone keeps on dogging the WR's on the Dolphins when it has been poor QB play for the past few years that brought down the production.
Also note that they include this years draft picks in the mix when they ranked them, so maybe I see the Dolphins putting up some good receiving numbers with the addition of Trent Green and John Beck at QB, Ted Ginn and David Martin to go along with Chris Chambers and Marty Booker at wide out.
Cam Cameron will make better play calls than Nick did and you have to throw in Lorenzo Booker, who will be used quite a bit out of the backfield.
Call me crazy, but I think this is going to be one of the most improved psoitions on the team this year and will show a dramatic improvement.:D

To be honest I think that's being very kind to the 'phins. Remember that our leading receiver last year was Wes Welker. I loved watching Wes play, but when a player like Wes Welker is your best WR then the team has some serious problems.

In terms of potential to be great we're in position to get into the top 10, but until that potential gets turned into production things will be tough all round in the passing game. It wasn't just poor pass blocking and poor passing either, remember how many times we were off our couches and swearing at the TV last year when our receivers insisted on dropping at what seemed to be every third ball thrown at them.
